NBC Was Fuming Mad After Their Employee Lost His Security Clearance

As would be expected, the loss of Brennan’s security clearance was the first thing anchor Lester Holt got to during NBC Nightly News. “It looks a lot like payback tonight for some former senior government officials who have spoken out against President Trump,” he bitterly declared. “The President yanking the security clearance for former CIA boss John Brennan today accusing him of using his access to ‘sow division and chaos’ at the White House.”

“Unprecedented,” White House correspondent Kristen Welker proclaimed at the start of her report. “President Trump tonight revoking the security clearance of one of his harshest critics, career intelligence official and former CIA Director John Brennan, who’s also an NBC News analyst.” Of course, she omitted how under his leadership the CIA spied on U.S. Senators and hacked their computers, then lied about it under oath.

Security clearances are VERY EXPENSIVE. I think they all have their clearances until they expire in 5 to 10 years from the issue date. So their clearances are nice for getting their first job outside of govt, but they’re going to expire soon anyway and they have no NEED TO KNOW about any of their former assignments (even if they still have a clearance).

Why do political appointees who no longer work for the government have security clearances and retired military don’t?

Purely for the convenience of the government -- e.g., so their successors in office can consult, etc.

POTUS made the executive decision that Brennan keeping his clearance was not in the best interest of the government. (IMO, Brennan should never have gotten one in the first place, but I digress.) He is completely within his rights to do so for Brennan or anyone else, for any reason (or no reason) he pleases.

The media is just demonstrating their abiding stupidity with this tantrum.

I wonder if NBC has a "Force Majeure" clause in the contract?

Rather than claim an "Act of God," they can claim an "Act of Trump!" And cancel the contract with Brennan. LOL!

I heard a good explanation this morning on the radio. It was a courtesy of Presidents to allow former IC heads to keep their clearances, so that they could be called in to advise on some issue for which they had expertise. It made it easier for the current agency to bring them back in to a meeting.

Unfortunately, the Obama slimeballs like Brennan et. al. abused this courtesy, and after giving them enough rope to hang themselves (so to speak), Trump is now pulling their clearances.

President Trump knows everything

I read this as another major move on the chessboard of draining the swamp.

The White House publishes a list of who's who in the realm of having their clearances checked and John Brennan is #1 in getting his publicly cancelled.

Said another way ' "You think Comey, McCabe et al. had problems you should really look at John Brennan; putting the spotlight back on him.

On a second theme, mentioning active employee Bruce Ohr also hints at a lot of fireworks coming. Putting Ohr's name out now is confirming a tie between Brennan and the not so Special Counsel and that so called investigation.

We have learned a lot in the past few weeks. Many of us knew these things for the past two years, but it was necessary to go through all the proper means of getting proof contained in documents and emails, which became a ginormous undertaking.

So much was discovered and proven and yet ONE man, who is legendary in finding evidence, NEITHER SAW NOR WAS AWARE OF ANY OF WHAT WE NOW KNOW, AND THAT MAN IS:

ROBERT MUELLER

Mr. Mueller can not be given credit for exposing ANY OF THIS.

AMAZING

And he never even showed much interest in any of it, either.

______________

They paid good money for his top secret information. I wouldn’t blame them for firing his now-useless ass.

“Our entire system of security clearances is based on NEED TO KNOW. With no job, what’s Brennan’s NEED TO KNOW?”

This.

What possible reason exists for defrocked federal employees retaining access to secret information?

There is no reason. Strip all of them of their clearances. If they want to keep tabs on what is going on, let them buy a newspaper subscription like everyone else.

So when the Army took away my security clearances when I retired, they were doing it to “shut me up”? I never thought about it that way.

Someone needs to tell these dipwads that our justice process is not “Brennan helps himself to some intelligence which he then leaks to the press”.

Of course, the MSM always omits evidence and facts that do not support their false narratives.

Security clearance is a privilege, not a right. It doesn’t matter how much it costs to go through the process, he should have lost it along with the executive washroom key the day he was shown the door.
