You knew they were going to furiously backpedal after that one. He said it and he clearly meant it.
Our relatives whom fought to free the slaves were not great?
Our grand fathers and fathers how freed the world from the Nazi grip were not great?
Our military and President Reagan who brought down the Berlin Wall were not great?
Our medical personnel who have extended the live span of billions were not great?
Our farmers that feed the world are not great?
A stronger statement than that.
“The Governor believes that when everyone is fully included and everyone is contributing to their maximum potential, that is when they get their gruel, not before.
He’s just butt-hurt at not getting a cut of the pay-off for the power-plant. His long time pal was convicted of Fed. charges in a shake-down scheme for construction permitting for a power plant in Orange County. So far the firewall has protected Andrew from RICO involvement.
Fruits and nuts?
Now don’t lower fruitcake to the level of Cuomo the Jerk.
He knew exactly what he was saying and he meant it: America cannot suck enough!
Anyway, spoon brandy over fruitcake, freeze it, then thaw & serve. Bellissimo!
This man has a political tin ear, and a understanding of America and its history that no one could envy.
“When the President speaks about making America great again - going back in time - he ignores the pain so many endured and that we suffered from slavery, discrimination, segregation, sexism and marginalized women’s contributions,””
Cuomo guarantees that his definition of “equality” may never be realized, because he does not define his version of “equality”. Does he mean equality of opportunity, or equality of outcome? The first we have always striven for, the second is obviously impossible and therefore ridiculous.
Add to that, he seems to require that we somehow “equalize” history, or revise it, by somehow redressing it with some sort of punishment of America and Americans. They used to call that process “affirmative action”, which was never an accurate term.
Better term might have been “political racial pandering” or “false demagogic promise-making”. The result of decades of this kind of political fraud, is the “political correctness” and “identity politics” we have suffered under when the Democrats were in power.
Finally, Cuomo’s criticism ignores all the efforts by so many Americans to create a reality out of “equality of opportunity”, like the Civil War, all the positive constitutional amendments to date, etc, etc. etc. He wishes to pretend that Utopia will somehow descend upon us all, someday, somehow, certainly under his reign. And New York will lead the way? The Democrats have destroyed every municipality they have ever governed. Maybe that is what he is so impatient to see be overcome, eh?
A truthful Dem saying he hates America and Americans.
That Hill is so clever.
They wrote a fairly straightforward piece and had to...HAD TO...end the article with a negative for President Trump.
If it weren’t for John Solomon and a few others, this would be such a great rag.
What an A**H**E!!!!
NY was never that great ... that’s why they have a governor to match!
So he thinks America will be reaching its full potential only when we are communist? Except in communism, elites like Cuomo are super rich and everyone else is a slave...so he cant possibly mean that can he?
So, Cuomo is against Affirmative Action? Cuomo wants fewer women in college (currently 57-43% female)? Cuomo wants racial and gender set-asides and preferences in housing and loans and government contracts to all end?
You confuse NY with NYC.
How can they say he believes that America is great when he said it was NEVER great? Oh I forgot .....words don’t mean shit to liberals.
Cuomo was never that great, even though he might think otherwise.
