FED up with creeping socialism, conservatives in BIG push for constitutional convention

It’s Time: There hasn’t been one since the earliest days of our founding, but conservatives — increasingly alarmed by creeping socialism, Left-wing courts, and Democratic efforts to overturn the 2016 election are now turning their attention more avidly towards a “constitutional convention.”

In the days of the Tea Party movement, a book called “The Liberty Amendments” by constitutional scholar, author, talk host and former Reagan Justice Department official Mark Levin sparked a modern-day convention movement that would operate much as the first “con-con” which took place from May 25 to September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia.

“I think we’re three or four years away,” former Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn told The Guardian on Friday at the annual convention for American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).

NO NEED FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION!!!!

JUST ENFORCE THE FREAKING CONSTITUTION AND DISMANTLE THE UNCONSTITUTIONAL 80% PORTION OF THE $4 TRILLION FEDS!!!

MAGA BY RESTORING OUR FREE CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!!!!

A Constitutional Convention per se acquiesces to the mostly illegal feds by saying we have to change the constitutional laws the feds have already broken!!!???

Please, don’t add more confusion to the confused D.C. SWAP. JUST DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!

Judicial activism has been the biggest weapon the left has to destroy our culture. They have relied on it for every major culture shift...polls be damned.

Agreed. 95% of our ills could be fixed by following the constitution we already have.

Remember that there has already been a “dry run” mock convention, for everyone to learn the process and avoid obstacles, and it went without a hitch.

‘Historic’ Arizona convention on changes to U.S. Constitution opens 1st day at Capitol

Why change the Constitution? It is fine.

START FOLLOWING THE ONE WE HAVE!

Idiots who want a “Constitutional Convention” are too stupid to realize what the negative consequences WILL be.

They do that because they want to see who will disobey court orders.

Be careful what you wish for. The socialists would love to change the constitution as much if not more than any conservative.

The current problem with the constitution is lack of it being obeyed.
We need a house and senate with a majority of Joe McCarthys.

A constitutional convention is a trap.

Just wait until the demands come for racial and economic quotas

Eliminate the unconstitutional Federal Reserve, and eliminate the 16th amendment and it will starve the remaining unconstitutional activities

It is a push for a convention of the sates NOT a constitutional convention. There is a big difference. That said, I would worry about them losing control of the scope.

I do not support a constitutional convention in any way, shape or form.

There are ways to add (or subtract) to (from) the constitution without out opening that can of worms. And any changes would made by the convention would still have to be ratified by the states. So why bother.

Personally I would repeal the amendment that allowed vote for Senator. Return Senators to the State governments to select.

Second I would return the voting age back to 21.

Third - make it so simply being born in this country does not make you a citizen - you need at least one parent who is a citizen first.

Yes. I agree. Our government does not seem bound by the Constitution we have.

No guarantees a new constitution would be an improvement. The left could very well hi-jack the process. Who in the GOP would stand up to them? The republic would be doomed for sure.

The deep state would salivate at the prospect of a constitutional convention. Too many RINOs too. The resultant armed conflict could be interesting though.
