Videos of Iranians singing/chanting against the regime at soccer games

Reza Pahlavi is hated & feared by the Iranian regime, because he is very popular with the Iranian people & the regime view him as a huge threat. 2 days ago, Reza Pahlavi asked Iranians via social media, to use their local soccer match to show their disdain for the regime.

He specifically asked Azeris, since as a whole they were not participating as much in the ongoing protests.

Here is a video posted after that request:

Thousands of soccer fans in Iranian province of Azerbaijan singing in praise of Reza Pahlavi in Turkish-Azeri language.

I’ll bet Jimmy Carter ignores such things since he is responsible for the existence of radical Iran.

If you want to know where the people stand, watch the crowds at sporting events. Bad news for the mullahs.

Because it’s in Farsi, CNN will run with it as a spontaneous anti Trump rally.

That could be closer to the truth than we can imagine. Similar misrepresentations have happened-—they never give up and are always looking for new source material to distort.

Seems to me after Iraq we owe a little payback to Iran.

Hopefully we are arming and equipping the members of the anti-Islamic Republic with weapons to overthrow the regime.

And I hope they kill LOTS of Iranian military members.

Every Iranian, I have ever known has called himself a Persian.

The Iranian religious leaders don’t acknowledge Persia, which was not a Muslim country. There is a huge disconnect between the religious leaders and the history/culture of the people.

The Iranian military is not politically relevant, The regime is kept in power by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and causes trouble internationally though iIGRC special operations arm, the Quds Force.

These are folks who arranged to give Shia militias the rockets and mortar shells they shot at me for through two deployments.

It would be a such shame if they all ended up strung up on lamp posts in Tehran. /s

I was wondering if now was the time to go back to Persia as a name.
I should have known better, but my mind went to the name 'Iran' being tied to Islam.
I looked around though and found....

--- Why did Persians choose Iran instead of historical name Persia for their country?

"It’s a misconception the foreigners have, but the reason is so simple. Each country have some endonyms and exonyms.

For example, people know “Hellas” as “Greece”. Persians call it “Younan”; so if Greeks request others to call their land “Hellas”,
which is even more historical and valid than “Greece” (Hellas - Wikipedia), then some people may think that “Hellas” is a new nation.

Unfortunately, such a misconception exists about the name of Iran (Name of Iran - Wikipedia); Iran literally means “ the land of Aryans”
and Aryans (or Iranians) were considered the common ethnicity of many Iranian ethnic groups, one of which are Persians (Refer to Iranian peoples - Wikipedia).
From the Parthian Empire or even before that time, people knew their land as Iran.
It’s repeated hundreds of times in Shahnameh (Shahnameh - Wikipedia) as the national epic of Iranians; even Achaemenid knew themselves first Persian, and then Aryan.
In a royal inscription Darius the Great once stated “I am a Persian, son of a Persian; Aryan; having Aryan lineage”. DNa - Livius

About 80 years ago, Reza Shah of Iran requested the foreigners to use “Iran” instead of “Persia”, which could cover all ethnic groups of Iran.

Perhaps it was a bad idea, but Reza Shah requested to replace “Persia” with “Iran” for any mention of Persia throughout history;
No one said it’s a new name; It was just a more valid name. Later, Mohammad Reza Shah announced that both “Persia” and “Iran” are interchangeable.

In many cases “Iran” is a more technical term;
For example the valid term for Persian Empires (Persian Empire - Wikipedia), which refers to five major Empires from Iran should be called “Iranian Empires”;
for example Parthians (In fact Arsacid Empire) and Medes were “Iranians” and Achaemenid and Sassanid were Persians and again Iranians;
Safavis were a Perso-Turk (Persianate) Empire, and Iranian could be correct as we still have Azeris as a Trukic ethnic group (about 16%).

For an expert, the names are interchangeable, and sometimes one is more technical than the other. I hope people respect this rule."

Protests and riots against the Iranian regime have been going on, for weeks. But the western press has been almost completely ignoring it. More important things for them to obsess about, such as the fake dossier, fake collusion, and fake Russian bogeyman.
