As FreeRegin stated in the above post, Graham was making an implied threat that Trump would be impeached if he fired Sessions, but you don’t do nuance.

What you do is try & make points & insult fellow conservatives. Make a big deal out of nothing.

Take my advice about your personal life. It will do you worlds of good.

I get in a kerfuffle out here on rare occasions & in the end, it’s a waste of time. That’s on me & I’m going to make an effort to can this nonsense in the future & move on.

he was not! That is just your crazed imagination.    :)

This poster does not understand an implied threat. So frustrating.

Graham made the following threats.

Graham also threatened to pass some kind of (unconstitutional) legislation that would protect Mueller.

Certainly, Graham was implying that Trump would lose political support from his own party.

That's why I think that Trump is playing a long game. Trump's letting the facts come out and Trump is concentrating on his many successes...for now. As Trump says, at some point he'll get involved with his DOJ.

Yep. It took great courage for Sessions to recuse(AWOL)
himself from the biggest scandals in American history.

but it was not in any way, shape or form, "the senate will explore impeachment." which is what we're talking about.

I'm sure there are more than a few RINO Senators that would jump on the convict and remove bandwagon.

Not enough votes to remove. But their goal would be to sidetrack the Trump agenda.

Graham made the following threats.

POTUS can appoint a temp AG without senate confirmation.

"If Jeff Sessions is fired, there will be Holy Hell to pay."

so, acosta will cry and mika will stamp her feet?

"Any effort to go after Mueller could be the beginning of the end of Trump's presidency...unless Mueller did something wrong."

nothing to do with sessions.

Certainly, Graham was implying that Trump would lose political support from his own party.

so what. who do you think is running the party now? not a question.

I gave you the "so what", and you ignored it. As I said, their goal would be to sidetrack the Trump agenda.

who do you think is running the party now. not a question.

Why do you think we don't have full funding for the wall? And that is a rhetorical question.

A recess appointment is different from this 210 day Federal Vacancies Act. A recess appointment would be even better for Trump and the Senate would have to remain in session to keep him from exercising it.

I’m sure they are staging a five-act drama in the media - to what end we can’t know. But I’m also sure the Democrat leadership doesn’t believe Trump is mad at Sessions, either. They are likely furious that Trump’s phony attacks on Sessions are giving Sessions credibility that can be used against Democrat interests in the future, but it hardly helps them to point that out.

There are also ‘interim appointments’. There doesn’t need to be a recess if the appointee has been confirmed to a different job. This allows the President to bypass the next-in-line bureaucrat and put one of his own people in charge temporarily.

If Sessions is so terrible as AG, why can Trump not replace him? Hello? Or am I missing something about the office?

It goes back to President Nixon. President Richard Nixon ordered his Attorney General Elliot Richardson to fire the Special Prosecutor, Archibald Cox. AG Richardson resigned instead.

William D. Ruckelshaus was the Deputy AG and also refused to fire Cox, so he was fired by President Nixon.

Robert Bork, who was then the Solicitor General then fired SP Cox. This was presented as Obstruction of Justice by the President. Since then the Attorney General position has been considered sacrosanct when a high level DoJ investigation is ongoing.

The biggest threat to FR is the Q nuts. They will destroy credibility and falsely label FR a Q site faster than anything else.

Even if President Trump has the authority to arbitrarily oust AG Sessions, FORGET IT!! Can you imagine judges who are part of the coup interpreting this? Can you imagine the venom from both sides of the aisle? You could have Republicans voting for impeachment! Keep in mind that there is a wing of the Republican Party that wants to destroy the Trump presidency; firing AG Sessions would be the excuse they used.

Then there are those of us who like AG Sessions and respect him for being so early to get on the Trump Train. I doubt President Trump would have succeeded if not for AG Sessions and Steve Miller. Those of us who followed the campaign closely saw how much better Trump was on the campaign trail when Sessions was with him and how all of the real good speeches probably have a lot of Steve Miller input. (the strong historical context).

I suspect President Trump would be fairing better with his AG if he weren't so confrontational with him.
