Excellent analysis by Dr. Hanson, 100% correctomundo as usual, but the idea that there is a “second civil war” coming is wrong. At least not in the sense of armies fighting. There will be increasing violence between groups of left and right at protests, speeches and demonstrations and even some rioting but it’s not possible for the two sides to don uniforms and square off. I see no real gravitation towards the forming of armed militia so the “second civil war” is really going to be little more than an eternal shouting match in speech and in print with a few bloody noses and broken bones thrown in here and there. On the down side, there is no way to completely vanquish the left in this manner so there is no final resolution possible.
As soon as we completely occupy and shut down the leftist media in this country, I will change my mind about all of the above.

I agree in terms that we will not see the 10th Alabama sallying forth against the 70th NY, but what makes civil war is not uniforms or flags, but weapons and devotion to a cause. While devotion to America and its ideals is great do not sell the Red Progressive short. If the 20th century taught us anything it is that the Reds are willing to kill and to die.
