Hoyer spoke with the 28-year-old by phone on Thursday and they had a "good conversation" where he told her to focus on helping Democrats win the majority in the House of Representatives, Roll Call reported.
"I think she has an understanding that not everybody has the district she has," Hoyer said.
Ocasio-Cortez, a democratic socialist who stunned the political world last month with an upset primary win over Rep. Joe Crowley (D., N.Y.) in New York's 14th district, has become an in-demand campaigner for progressives across the United States. She campaigned on such ideas as abolishing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, a universal jobs guarantee, and forgiveness of all student debt.

Note he is not saying “your ideas are bad ideas”, or “your ideas are not the ideals of our party”.
He is saying “go easy on the other members who can’t be so open about stuff because people in their districts aren’t crazy.
He is shushing her so that the more moderate Democrats won’t be scared off. They have been playing this double game for a long time, otherwise they would not be a major party.
Personally, I think little miss hottie Cortez should be allowed to run her mouth whenever and where ever she pleases. For she does represent the message the rats want to hide. This naive little thing is just being honest, which is why she’s being reined in.
I’m going to LMAO if Cowley does mount a third-party campaign and takes the seat anyway. I don’t care for Windbag Joe at all but it’d be awesome to watch the commie get her comeuppance in November.
