Yeah, well, even dolts understand that automobile trade is complex and takes longer than one day to negotiate, that’s why they are announcing today what has already been agreed to. But like most FReepers you seem eager to snatch some kind of defeat from the jaws of victory.
This is winning on the same economic scale as tax cuts, perhaps you could celebrate it rather than crappost like the lefties will do.

There is nothing complicated about it. EU should drop their tariffs and we might drop our paltry tariff. Try to keep up.
One has to admit one thing - action on things move faster than it has under most prior presidents, when this president takes some action that requires equally fast responses from others. One might ask, how fast was the EU going to negiotiate on a “zero tariffs” trade standard with the U.S., if Trump had not enacted the recent tarrif increases? Prior presidents have always voiced similar goals, and always come with: “those negotiations will be hard and long”, and then nothing moved. Trump sees he has but 4-8 years to act, on anything, or like his many mondern predecessors, things will just drift along.
Full disclosure: That does not mean I always or will always agree with Trump on somthing specific. But on getting movement, getting action going, getting friends and enemies to act, Trump is a mover and shaker, not a waiter.
