Here's a compromise.

Keep the cafeteria but let local businesses provide food in the cafeteria.

Turn the cafeteria into a mini food court.

If it's a small cafeteria have weekly rotating businesses come in.

Monday: Mikes' Hotdogs

Tues: Tijuana Tacos

Wed: Westend Pizza and Wings

etc...

I can’t see any biz with corporate security concerns agreeing to that. And I wouldn’t blame them.

“Keep the cafeteria but let local businesses provide food in the cafeteria.”

I worked in several major Silicon Valley companies all of whom had on-site cafeterias. They were run by contractors. Hell, they were so wanting to keep you from leaving the premises during the workday that they had on-site gyms, dry cleaning, and they even had on-site oil change services for your car. This meant that you could put on ten or twelve hour days for them without being “inconvenienced” by the things that normal people do.

“Monday: Mikes’ Hotdogs”

No win situation. To placate the Hebrews and Muslims with beef dogs the Hindi’s will be offended.
