COLUMBUS, Ohio If Sen. Bernie Sanders is leading a leftist political revolt, then a summit here of moderate Democrats might be the start of a counterrevolution.
While the energy and momentum is with progressives these days the victory of rising star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York, buzz about Democratic Socialism and the spread of the "Abolish ICE!" movement are a few recent examples moderates are warning that ignoring them will lead the party to disaster in the midterm elections and the 2020 presidential contest.
That anxiety has largely been kept to a whisper among the party's moderates and big donors, with some of the major fundraisers pressing operatives on what can be done to stop Sanders, I-Vt., if he runs for the White House again.
But the first-ever "Opportunity 2020" convention, organized here last week by Third Way, a moderate Democratic think tank, gave middle-of-the-road party members a safe space to come together and voice their concerns.

I think a lot of Bernie’s support came from the fact that he was the alternative to Shillery.
Bernie is quite the talker, too, even if it’s a bunch of B.S. His personality is likable, to many D’s.
Maybe so, but it has gone far beyond that negative reason at inception into positive support for socialism.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has grown too powerful. She has a majority of Democrats behind her. Nancy and the others need to wise up and do whatever Alexandra says she is the voice of the Democrat’s future! It’s their turn now!
LoL! Enjoy the suck, Democrats!
Round 'em up and put 'em in "camps" like their hero FDR would do?
Ya could say Trump ordered it.
How many of Bernie’s socialist supporters have seen his tax returns and net worth? A great case study for cognitive dissonance.
I think there will be payback for cheating Bernie out of the nomination.
Because Bernie was not a Democrat...he’s always identified himself as a socialist....the DNC should have stopped him in 2015 from getting on primary ballots.
But I think that they needed people to be ‘thrilled’ in the primary season and figured that he’d get more people to come out and vote....to engage. They just didn’t expect him to take 40-percent of the primary votes.
So now, they are stuck with a large part of the Democratic base (mostly young and in college), who think that Bernie led them to a better path ahead. Unless they do some creative work over the next two years, I think the Bernie effect will reoccur...creating more division within the party, and guaranteeing a 2020 loss.
I would even go and suggest in 2024...that a major party is created with 10-million Bernie-type voters, and taking a large chunk out of the Democratic base.
Could we see a replay of the 1824 election, where the voting went to the House?

There are two moderate Democrats left. One in western .Utah and the other in a small town near Soldatna Alaska , but they are terrified.
The LEFT MEDIA CARTEL lying again. A battle between moderates and progressives. LIARS!
This a battle between the old guard masked socialists and the new unmasked socialists.
Psssstt! Unmasked socialists, wanna wipe out the masked socialists? Point out the masked socialists corruption every chance you get.
Yes, but Romney is running as a Republican again this time.
LOL! Feel the Bernout. Marginalized Marxists ALERT!
Romney is a member of the old guard masked socialists.
One word: Romneycare.
Hillary and Nancy with their aging-terribly looks, failing health problems and their hanging on to their powers are driving their base over the cliff.
Choose it losers: bat chit crazy or totally marxist insane.
either way, we win.

Only if republican/conservative voters come out in droves in the fall. Else we lose. Right now, according to one poll (NBC/Wall St), the Dems have a 6 point or better enthusiasm lead. Meaning more of them will turn out than us.
Jim Himes is a lying democrat fraud.
Was one of obamacares biggest supporters, mouthing Obams lies about it.
