I believe, you only need to spend less than 300 yuan to own a smartphone that looks like an IPhone on the outside, but have you heard of spending 420,000 yuan for a "Lamborghini"? Recently, a report on the Internet with pictures and videos once again stirs up waves with the word "Shanzhai" in the Chinese auto market.

A home automaker has made a Shanzhai version of the "Lamborghini Murcielago LP64" model. Different than the earlier Shanzhai cars, the car maker said this Shanzhai Lamborghini's exterior is 99% identical to the genuine mode, interior is up to 70% similar. The Shazhai Lamborghini is modified from a Toyota MR2. The craftsmanship alone has won netizens' admiration.

A lot of such cars are fake - yes I know, it’s fake to begin with. What I mean though is that the pictures they show of ‘their’ cars are fake. They use photos of genuine cars, and then claim what you’ll get is what you see.

Which is often not the case.

Anyone who knows something about cars will know that there’s no way one can get the dimensions of a LP4 from the dimensions of a Toyota MR2. Impossible, and the car will look ‘off.’

So, that picture is either (a) or a real Murcielago or (b) of the Franken-car, but much MUCH smaller than the real deal. Smaller is the only way one can get the dimensions of a Murcielago from a MR2.

There was a website that sold these vehicles as kit cars, and it was shut down after it was revealed the pictures on the site were of real vehicles and what people were buying were ugly misshapen crap.

It’s easy to get a kit car of a Cobra. One that will look 100% the same. It’s much harder to get the dimensions of a Lamborghini right ...especially the Murcielago, which is a large and low car. One can do the older Ferrari 360 from a Toyota MR2 (dimensions are closer), but even that would look off. For more modern exotics, maybe if you start off with an Aston Martin frame and make it lower ...and that’s a $200K+ car to start with

99% of stuff made in China by Chinese leadership is crap.

Especially bearings and extrusions. They NEVER heat treat them properly and they warp, bend or wear/fail quickly.

We did not make modification on the original beam, so car safety index is same as the original Toyota.

However we added stainless steel, steel pipe and steel plate in the driver and passenger side doors.

We also added 4 point racing seat belts.

This car cannot get license plate, but satisfies all driving capabilities. However our factor sells the car only for display.

LOL...it's only to display in your collection! I'll put right next to my Revell and Monogram display cars. It's important to have four point racing harness in your static display car.

Of course, an owner can always Pretend to Drive His Lamborghini.
