PUBBIES are also getting laws past so 18 year olds can do long haul trucking!!!

This truly is great news! There is a shortage of truck drivers and companies have been hiring foreign workers with work VISAs. We need to keep those jobs for our citizens!

As vital as our trucking industry is I think we need to hire our own citizens as a matter of security as well.

I actually think this is in response to companies that have been saying for years they have jobs but young people are not being taught things that will help them get trade type jobs.

Right now there is a real shortage of trades people in our country, one solution is to import foreign workers- which is being done (work VISA) a better solution is to offer classes that lead to trade skills in high school like we use to in this country. I think it will take a while to get vocational job training in the high schools so hopefully this is a short term project at least the government involvement. I know I am an optomist.

How about reining in H1B visas at the same time, or maybe even first. Less government instead of more.

Yes! I would like to see tests for entry and promotions to avoid the usual spoilage caused by social politics.

Now the Hate America Democrats will start marching, protesting and boycotting all of these companies. It screws up their free sh*t dependency programs.

I have nothing against the idea. In fact it is a great idea.

My issue is the executive order; using the heavy hand of the Federal leviathan to get it done.

I understand that companies are willing to hire people out of prison but are worried about the potential liability. That would call for tort reform or giving some level of immunity for example.

Also, if government is to get involved, why not leave it to the states? A much longer and tedious process for sure, but better than another bloated Federal program.

Finally this runs the very real risk of devolving into something riddled with corruption and political correctness. Is there any government operation today void of corruption and political correct nonsense? And they all started out with good intentions.

Well you might as well ask them to build a wall... that isn’t happening either. I would have rather had a wall than a pen stroke. Kabuki feel good ink.

... [Trump] would, over time, have a deleterious effect on their (universities) long-established hegemony..

Not only Trump's policies, but online learning. Brick and mortar schools with dormitories are the horse and buggy of 21st century learning. They might not all disappear, but I think most of them will. Fewer parents will pay/borrow fortunes to have their children indoctrinated and brainwashed while developing no skills with which to make a living. And fewer students will take out huge student loans to pay for useless "education."
