I wouldn’t bet on it. Speaking personally, every time I see “the people” held up as an unequivocal good, my gut-level association is with massacres, famines, and worse.

My Grandfather went thru the Russian Revolution. His family was peasant farmers, As the Bolsheviks came through their farm taking everything, Their Cry was “For The People”

I just think that among the many Alinsky tactics habitually engaged in by the Dems (Reps don’t care about children/immigrants/women/clean air/water, only care about big biz, want to bring back slavery, want to take away black peoples right to vote, etc etc etc) at least one such tactic should be employed, eg; the relentless repetition that in *some* cases causes the recipient to be triggered into waylaying him/herself into explaining how they are not racist for the 4,732nd time, Reps should simply do the same thing.
People have heard those bumpersticker memes forever, and what is the result? Surprisingly, even for people otherwise apparently intelligent...they stick. You have college professors claiming Republicans think nothing of throwing old people over the cliff.
Why shouldn’t Republicans get in on the party? (no pun intended) It isn’t about the shame of saying something stupid. It is about the residual effect of repeating something 1,000 times. It sticks.

So, let me get this straight, the Dems are counting on an empty slogan to counter President Trump’s accomplishments. Yea, that’s real smart and in reality says they think their voters are really dumb.
