LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Pizza mogul John Schnatter is making major moves to repair his reputation and regain his position on the Papa John's board.
WAVE 3 News learned Schnatter has now hired Hollywood power lawyer Patricia Glaser, after he admitted to using the N-word during a conference call in a way he maintains was mischaracterized.
Glaser has a lot of experience representing big names including disgraced movie executive Harvey Weinstein, Keith Olbermann, Conan O'Brien and celebrity chef Paula Deen after her N-word scandal.
WAVE 3 News obtained a letter Glaser sent to the Papa John's Board of Directors on Sunday on behalf of Schnatter.
Glaser wrote Schnatter's words in the media training meeting with the Laundry Service, an advertising and marketing agency, were "mischaracterized" in the Forbes story and that "the topic arose because he resisted the Laundry Service's recommendation to feature Mr. Kayne West in Company promotions because Mr. West uses the N-word in his lyrics."
Glaser's letter said a complete and independent investigation should be done.
We have also obtained a letter from Schnatter to the Papa John's board.
In it, he stated again he never used the N-word in that meeting as a racial epithet, nor would he ever.
It says the board has "no authority to remove Mr. Schnatter as a director without a proper vote of the shareholders."
Schnatter said when Laundry Service was fired, Papa John's owed them $1.3 million. But "they said they wanted six million because they claimed some of their people had been offended by what I had said. Moreover, one of their attorneys said they would conduct a smear campaign against the company and me unless we paid them what he was asking for."
He said Papa John's then offered $2.5 million.
Schnatter also wrote that he now believes it was a mistake to step down as chairman without an investigation.
He ended his letter by saying he "will not allow either my good name or the good name of the company I founded and love to be unfairly tainted."

Notice how they condemn him. They say he “used” the n word. That’s intented to make you think that he said the n word. He QUOTED it, attributing the word to someone else.
Deliberate and intentional choice of the word “use” as a means of misleading. They know the public is stupid, and doesn’t remember the facts. The public then dutifully thinks what they are supposed to think.
The double standard was applied to him because he’s White and because he dared speak against the kneeling black NFL players. That’s the reason.
You can be making millions as CEO, but if your lips pronounce the word “nnnnnn” you are fired. There is no freedom of speech or thought. We live in a dictatorship of the left.

I doubt anyone who could be labeled with the N-word is lilly white clean about their use of similar slurs against others. It is a feature and not a bug. The proof is our colleges and the words and actions of radials who talk about white males, white population, etc. While it is today shameful guys like Papa John are not todays kids who 55 years later lived in segregated world. The true shame is the self segregation of the black community and the targeted discrimination in employment against white men, or other competent job candidates in racial, then gender, then perversion set asides.
Papa John was in business to make money and his error was to become a publicly traded stock. This is just another corporate board take over, and the result is the same, but the pressure to vacate may differ. Take your money, run, and do what you did to your business partner when you split up with Pizza Hut’s co-founder — set up your OWN company backed with your money, and just be PAPA’s Pizza with a less diverse Sauce - cause the recipe is the secret, the secret to Pizza Hut and Papa John’s.
He should join Peyton Manning and start his own competitor. Be completely in the background but get the last laugh destroying the people who kicked you out.
