There is something both sad and beautiful about what Garner was doing. He was a free man in America engaging in capitalism at its humblest level. So they killed him.

Yeah, his medical condition made him surprisingly fragile for such a big guy. If 6 officers had piled on him to bring him down, without the choke, he would have probably died from compression on his chest from those 6 officers.
Correct! The same thing happened in the Ethan Saylor case in Frederick, MD a few years ago. Dog piling a fat guy is often fatal. The "choke hold" probably didn't kill him and will lead to Pantaleo skating (well, they always do anyway).
