People are now attacking other Americans in the street, screaming “illegal immigrant” whenever they see someone who doesn’t look like them, summoning the police whenever they see someone in their neighborhood who has different pigmentation in their skin.
It’s disturbing. Charlottesville, as bad as it was, could have been worse — and this shows no signs of abating. So Scott and his colleagues aren’t dredging up old times best forgotten, they are attempting to administer preventative medicine.

There is no such word as "preventative." The term is PREVENTIVE.
It's an election year, and community organizing has morphed to scaring the ignorant into mass hysteria.
(In order to channel their votes for them, but they leave that part out.)
Just think . . .
If we had strong border enforcement, stopped flooding the country with 3rd world welfare cases, repelled and sent back the moose-limb invaders, we would probably have a much more peaceful country.
Desirable legal immigrants would be helped along on their path of assimilation to their new country. Our very big hearts would be aiding legitimate, emergency refugees. All the while revealing the “shining city on the hill” for other countries and people’s to emulate.
But we have a corrupt government ruling with force, by fiat, with no consequences for plainly guilty apparatchiks.
So, eff all the dirty bastards, and get them the hell out of my country.
The only purpose of laws like this is to get around double jeopardy. When did the last actual lynching occur? Did it go unpunished? At best, this is unneeded feel-good legislation. At worst, obscure wording will allow it to be twisted and used for political purposes.
