Is Germany a reliable NATO partner if they are depending on Russia for 70% of their energy needs? I do not think Germany is at all likely to oppose Russia on anything Russia does given those circumstances. So the question I have is what is the purpose of NATO anyways? Who or what is NATO protecting Europe from? I think it is past time to call it quits and let the Euroweenies protect themselves.

Why should we insist that the Germans view Russia as an enemy when they are not afraid of them enough to stop buying gas from them? The cold war with a communist Russia is over. Obama and the EU are the real communists now.
I supplied enough reason right there.
I’m not saying they should take up arms, but you don’t subject your whole populace to a shutoff or heating in the middle of Winter on a Russian leader’s whim.
Merkel was from East Germany. Was in the communist party.
Maybe the whole ting was planned, let east Germany go, Merkel becomes the chancellor, takes over the EU then the whole thing folds back to Russia.
