Comparing him to an arsonist fireman is absurd.

The only difference is intent, the fact remains that this was avoidable.

Every tragedy is “avoidable” in hindsight.

Guess these kids should have just stayed home locked in their rooms playing video games.

Whew... so glad my kids never went off and did things that they didn’t tell me they were going to do.

or me.

or my parents.

Oh wait. do you mean all youth do things like this?

I believe in degrees of avoidability. Marching into a cave in monsoon season isn't good odds, it's like a race car driver racing on bald tires and not being smart enough to put on new ones. I believe "accident" odds differ, there is such a thing as being accident prone - people who put themselves in greater risk than others. This is not Black and WHite.

The medic and three SEALs (who stayed after the last boys and coach were rescued) have safely exited the cave.

The boys were not under his authority when they went into the cave. He found their bikes and went in after them.

I'd like to know if that is true as well as more detail.

The most recent reports I read are that he didn’t take them to the cave. Rather, he went looking for them when parents wanted to know why their kids hadn’t come home. Regardless of what happened, keeping those kids together and alive under those circumstances makes him a hero in my book.

ON THE BASIS THAT THE SO CALLED BUDDIST MONK/COACH DANCED INTO A FOQUING CAVE WITH OUT ANY COMMON SENSE AND LURED THE TEAM IN , THEY WERE NOT PREPARED AT ALL FOR THE TRIP. A SOCCER COACH MONK SHOULD STAY THE FOQUE ON THE SOCCER FIELD

From NY Post: https://nypost.com/2018/07/03/soccer-coach-who-led-boys-into-cave-could-face-charges/

The youth soccer coach who led his team into a network of underground caves in Thailand may face charges for putting the boys in danger, according to a report.
Officials are looking into whether to charge the 25-year-old coach of the Wild Boars, identified in local outlets as Ekapol Chanthawong, with negligence for bringing 12 boys — ranging in age from 11 to 16 — on an excursion into the Tham Luang cave after their practice June 23.
“We have to study the matter carefully first,” Col. Komsan Saard-an, chief of the Mae Sai Police Station, told the Khaosod English paper on Tuesday, when asked if charges were forthcoming.
Some residents said the coach should have been more prudent.

Coach Ekaphol “Ake” Chantawong, 25, has come under criticism for allowing the boys to venture so far into the treacherous cave complex which honeycombs the jungle-clad peaks on the border between Thailand and Myanmar.

Acknowledging his responsibility in his own missive to parents from the cave, he wrote: “All parents, all of the kids are fine. Staff here are taking care of the kids very well. I promise I will take care of the kids at best. Thank you for your kind support and I would like to say I’m really sorry to you all.”

Even if everything you state there is true, it by no means supports your earlier post.
