Right now brain dead Susan Collins is a “no”; brain dead John McCain is a “no”, that sorry sob Jeff Flake is a “no”, and who knows what Rand Paul will do. Don’t forget little bitty, itsy bitsy, Bob Corker. He hates Trump and doesn’t give a damn about this country’s future. So I’d say there’s not much chance of anyone being appointed.

The article says if he (Cornyn) was nominated, he would say no.

Oops. Wrong one.

Judicial nominees need 51%, not necessarily 51 votes, 51% of the living breathing voting senators.

State Funeral? Why would he deserve such? Many other senators have passed and NEVER were honored in that way. McCain needs to quietly (and quickly) pass on so the rest of the world can move forward without further disruption from him.

McRino would have shot down anyone Trump nominated. With him out, that’s one less nay vote.

Who’s to say he’s not been on ice for the past six months already?

His selfishness is joined by the fact that he is a spiteful and bitter person with an inflated ego driving an arrogant sense of self-worth.

McCain hates Trump and is notoriously mean spirited. He can absolutely be counted on to try to thwart anything Trump does.

“McCain. Collins. Cornyn. And there will be others. “

I don’t think so. Bills can be changed. Executive orders can be changed. A supreme court pick is forever. This doesn’t hurt Trump so much as destroys the country forever.

For Collins, Cornyn, Flake, Corker and McCain, this is theater. They will still vote for the Constitutionalist, but will be able to tell their donors that they tried.

Flake, Corker, Hatch and McCain are not facing the voters again.

Collins, Murkowsky, Graham and Cornyn seem immune to voter wrath.

The Uniparty has the votes to block if they want.

It wouldn't be smart for these folks to block a qualified conservative justice candidate - not good for their legacy as Republicans so to speak.

Backing the abandonment of the rule of law and the surrender of the country didn’t seem top bother them at all.

With Susan Collins’ ‘No’ vote it’s 49-50 at best. <<<

BINGO! on Susan Collins!(Ol’ Marble-mouth)..the only way she'll vote yes on ANY Trump pick is if the pick is going to pass....

You can take that to the bank!......Shes been a *plant in the Republican party like her now retired sister senator Snowe...

Snowe was the secret “Mother of Obamacare”

* no jokes about plants and IQs..the plant would win

Judicial nominees need 51%, not necessarily 51 votes, 51% of the living breathing voting senators.

So, 50-49 isn't enough because that comes out to 50.5% and not 51%. I assume that the 51% is an absolute threshold and rounding up isn't allowed, so 50-49 isn't sufficient. I would assume this outcome would be recognized as a rejection of the nominee and not seen as a tie so Mike Pence would not be allowed to vote. I assume 50-49 is win for the bad guys and Trump has to go back to the well for another nominee.

So doesn't that say that one way or another, Trump is going to have to get at least one Democrat to cross over?
