Your analysis is correct. The rather uninformed knee jerk reactions of most are incorrect. The purpose of the proposal is in reaction to the far left wing influence of san fransico, los angeles and the coastal elites.

It requires approval of congress to form new states. Once that occurs no more admission is required.

No, no, and no. This would simply be 3 of the same. What they should do is have SF and the entire Bay Area, LA and surrounding area, and SD in one state. Basically a sliver of land along coastal CA from SD through Marin County as one state, Northern CA as another and Southern CA as another. It would be the only way for the rural people to escape the clutches of the maniacal city dwellers. Northern NY needs to separate from NYC too for the same reason.

Cities are where leftists infest and breed out of control living on welfare, food stamps, and many other hand outs. Let them pay for their own garbage people.

Split in 3, the Dems get 4 senators and the Pubbies get 2 (maybe 1).

That's what I was thinking.
We could prolly manage just fine with 49, actually.
Sieze the San Diego area as a protectorate for its military utility.

Hey, new meme, post-referendum >   Just Fine with Forty Nine !

No way! We will end up 4-6 Marxist Senators instead of 2.

Who is pushing for this?

Another point is that splitting the state let's the democrats cover up the fact that they destroyed it.

I'm sure somebody else has already said this down thread, but California doesn't need to split into three states to survive.

They need to start electing Republicans and within 5-10 years, things will turn around. But it might already be too far gone to backtrack. The population of LA is already over 50% illegals.

Why is it so difficult for the Left to see their failed outcomes littering the landscape in America, especially the major metropolitan cities? Their failures are open sores for everybody to see, all over the country. And yet they persist in following the same old, same old policies.

But then, on the other hand, maybe splitting up into three states is not such a bad idea. Smaller and populated with more similar than dissimilar people. LA would be illegals and Hollywood. San Fran would be nudes, queers and drug addicts. San Diego would be the conservative one with a big military presence of Marine and Naval installations and the best climate.

They can do what they want I suppose. I was born at the March AFB base hospital near Riverside and used to go back to see relatives and friends decades ago. But you couldn't get me anywhere close to that place now.

The liberals have ruined the biggest gem of the West.

How about just north of San Francisco, down the San Joaquin Valley to LA then right down I-15 to San Diego and Chula Vista. Everything north and east of that is the two "new states."

They can have their proglib commie state and the normal Americans in the rest of the state can have a new North California and new Southern California.

The proglibs would need rabies shots...

Because that's been the seditious bastards' plan all along.

That's OK.

I've long thought that Oklahoma, Kansas, North Dakota and South Dakota have always been much too diverse and spread out to govern effectively.

I should think that dividing OK into four and Kansas and the Dakotas into three states each would help immensely.

Let's see, that would be a nifty little pick up of and additional 18 GOP Senators.

Well, what's gotta be's gotta be.

If this is still on the table the next time Democrats control Congress (and the White House) it may go through.

But who knows how long that will be?

Or whether California will still want to split up years down the road?

The District of Columbia is ahead of California and there may be conflict if California tries to jump ahead of them.

I find it interesting that California did not have this problem till it was taken over by the Democrats. The same Democrats that claim they can do a wonderful job running the entire U.S..

“Putting the proposal on the ballot is a giant political CIRCUS....”

This is how the left gets it’s crazy agenda passed in California. Used initially bypass the Republican legislature it was later used to consolidate 100% control of the state government. This is one of the prime reasons that California is as it is.
