George Zimmerman was acquitted of a second-degree murder charge utilizing Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law, claiming he shot Martin in self-defense.

Despite fake news claims, Zimmerman did not use Stand Your Ground. He successfully claimed self-defense. Can't they even get the facts of the trial correct?

And to clarify even further, one does not "use" Stand Your Ground. SYG simply codifies that one does not have an obligation to retreat. It isn't an optional invocation, the duty to retreat just doesn't exist.

Reporters, writers, even lawyers, are confusing SYG with Self Defense Immunity, and even with the entire concept of self defense.
