There are rumors going around Twitter that Flynn might get his case thrown out (overturning his guilty plea) as soon as later this week. A judge is getting angry at the fact that Mueller keeps delaying sentencing so I think it's put up or shut up time.
If so, then that ties in nicely with Brian Ross making his exit. It would be embarrassing for the network if Flynn was cleared and they still had Ross on staff.
