WISE LATINO

The Court needs a wise Latino to fend off the Uncivil Rights and Civil Privilege groups who only want to enslave us.

The left has no way of stopping Trump’s nominee so long as Republicans work together for a change. So all this hysteria from the left will be an opportunity for nonstop schadenfreude for about 3 months. Stock up on popcorn while your local grocer still has a supply!

First, we have to get a nominee named.

Then, per current tradition, the nominee meets with senators and undergoes hearings.

Then senators debate (really grandstanding and name calling, but...)

McConnell saying it happens this fall is not unreasonable, although I would think that “fall” should mean “early September”, so the new Justice can start on the first day of the fall term.

I would love to have the vote happen in August, but that is far beneath the “normal” time frame as witnessed in Kagan’s nomination.

As an aside, I would fear for the country if the Senate were able to move quickly on most things...

Ramrod ‘em through. No filibuster rule in the senate, regular order.

Actually Sotomeyer is the one in greatest and most immediate danger. Rumor has it she's barely responding to any last ditch efforts to get her diabetes so it doesn't kill her. She's 64 and type I diabetes shortens lifespan an average of 13 years.

Ya’ll had eight years (24 if you count W and WJC) to frack with the country. Can’t cry that citizens can’t demand to set it right again now. Remember, the hate is really aimed at us, normal American voters who sent Trump to clean it up. MAGA.

Sorry but that is not going to happen. No matter how many republicans might think they are willing to cave on this rest assured that they are going to find out that, we the people, will get our new Supreme Court Justice this fall. They can either come along forward with us or be left behind!

Its not their court.

Further he could appoint as many justices as he wants. There is nothing that says the court has to be at 9 justices.

That is obviously a problem. IMHO we should pass a constitutional amendment which sets the number of SCOTUS justices at 11, and sets the number of SCOTUS appointments by each POTUS at 2 per presidential term. That way:

The reason I would expand SCOTUS to 11 justices is so that any one two-term POTUS would get to name only 4/11ths, not 4/9ths, of the Court. And a 22 year term, rather than a 18 year term, seems about right (for a SCOTUS justice not named Scalia or Thomas . . . ).

Yeah, assassinating Scalia backfired on the rats.

We’ll probably pick up some senators in Nov. so it will be made easier.
