The play is keep the Trumpers stirred up to vote and get Gorsuch 2.0 confirmed. Then see if Buzzie or Sotomeyer leaves. Get the court young and conservative. Protect the Republic. Get a red state senate sweep. MAGA/KAG!!

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Have any of these dims or dim groups ever cared about what we wanted? During the O administration they acted like we were bugs to squish under their shoe. That is how much I care about what they want now.

“Vanita Gupta, head of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, says senators need to put country over party and use every tool to stop what she calls President Donald Trump’s plan “to take over the Supreme Court for the next 40 years.””

That’s the point toots! We need to “fix” the SCOTUS for the next half century now, while we can. These Marxists are having a $hit fit, because they see their 100 year plan to turn America into a Marxist country going all to hell, thanks to Trump, and they are right!

“Vanita Gupta was Deputy Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union and Director of the ACLU’s Center for Justice.”

elections have consequences, I see Republicans being mobilized by the crazy Democrats for the mid term elections and I see the Sanders progressives being in a grudge match against Democrat super delegates canceling each other out in the mid terms.

Go Trump!

> There is nothing that says the court has to be at 9 justices. <

It’s a little-known fact, but Congress gets to decide how many Supreme Court justices there are. The most current law, the Circuit Judges Act of 1869, sets the number at nine.

And it’s probably best to leave well enough alone. A GOP Congress could change that to give a GOP president ten more appointments. But then a Democrat Congress could change that again to give a Democrat president twenty more appointments.

And then we’d be in banana republic territory.

This works both ways. Republicans could win in November too. “Trump Democrats” anyone?

There was only one way for the Dems to block the confirmation of an extremist nomination, should Trump make such a nomination (and there is no reason to believe he will - none of the candidates on his short list could reasonably be portrayed as extremist) - and that would be through the filibuster.

Unfortunately, they’ve thrown that tool away by trying to filibuster Gorsuch.

And we told them this is exactly what would happen.

If they had not filibustered Gorsuch, they’d still have the option to filibuster the next nominee. And if they did, the Senate leadership would attempt to use the nuclear option to end the filibuster. But here’s the thing - it would have been harder for the leadership to garner the votes to go nuclear, in a nomination that changes the balance of the Court, than it was for such a non-controversial nomination as Gorsuch. Especially if the nominee turns out to be a ideologue.

The simple truth is that the Dems are in the mess they are in because of their own actions. The is an unforced error.

The gun owners, particularly, are watching. They’ve not been very happy with the GOP since Bush 41. But if a Republican Senate confirms a solid gun rights nominee for SCOTUS, they will turn out, and they will prove to be the margin in a number of races.

And if SCOTUS picks up a case like Malpasso et al v. Pallozzi and clearly establishes the premise that firearm licensing standards must be non-discretionary - that if a State or community requires permits to carry, the standard of issue must be clear, and objective, and they must issue to all who meet those standards - we will see Trump re-elected.

They may have been “civil rights” groups years ago, but not now. They are traitors, anarchists, malcontents and thugs. It’s gonna get real ugly.
