YES!!! Court holds that union fees violate “the free speech rights of nonmembers by compelling them to subsidize private speech on matters of substantial public concern.

Or as I like to think of it the court ruled workers can't be forced to subsidize the democrat party...

This is a great thing for Illinois. Illinois has been raped and pillaged by the government unions which own the state and numerous jobs that have nothing to do with government workers, like your Uncle Syd who is taking care of your father. Illinois claimed that if your father gave him money for his efforts he owed union dues. Ridiculous!

And the pensions that cost more than all the government employee paychecks combined. Hopefully this will stop.

They have had a setback, but they will not stop trying. They will concoct another scheme to get their paws on your money, and the process starts all over again......................

Yes. Thanks to the Harry Reid nuclear option, 60 votes are no longer required to confirm appointments - just a simple majority - and Mike Pence can vote to break any ties.

Yep. Replacing a mostly strict constructionist judge is only holding serve. We need to replace a couple of the socialist judges.

Yes, but there is value to replacing a reasonably Originalist judge who is 80 or so with one who is 50 or so - it solidifies what’s there now, in preparation for someone like RBG leaving (most likely in a box). If that happens, then it is 6-3 decisions as far as the eye can see, in our favor. Breyer doesn’t have long, either.

No - the only bad case I can recall this term was the internet sales tax 5-4 decision and Kennedy was in the conservative dissent.

Overall, a fantastic term for the Court, and Justice Kennedy who has had some whoppers over the years goes out on a high note.

We would have to gain seats in order to confirm a nominee to replace one of the liberals...I would not count on Collins and Murkowksi to vote to confirm - they would vote to allow a final vote and not block the nominee, but they could very well vote against confirmation. Hence, why we need more seats to offset defections.
