Yes, they have large cattle operations, and as agribusiness concerns (their moneymaking and livelihood) they would relate most to the highly successful and helpful State Ag Secretary Putnam (and that would be without mittens “help”— simple business alignments would trend all ag interests to him, for just that reason). This is rural (what’s left of it) FL vs. urban (and Miami, Broward, S. FL hopelessly ultra lib so they are not much in this hunt). There are huge ag conglomerates, citrus, cattle, whole citrus juice, tomatoes, row crops— dozens of critical commodities year round. Oddly enough, Dunedin, FL (where DeSantis was raised and went to H.S.) is right in the center of the western FL ag business (mixed with more retirement tract homes).
Putnam is super A+ rated as what he calls “ a sell-out NRA supporter of the 2nd Amendment”. A huge issue in a state full of illegal aliens the liberals brought here, and to a lesser extent (fewer veggie pickers now with the harvesters used) the ag interests- to whom these illegal activists function as lefty laborists (just like they did in CA, they think they can in FL.... and they cant’).
In short, both of these candidates are our kind of candidate— and Putnam would do well to distance himself from the JEB leftover dead fish in the state— but they are the states own “admin” types that help that old machine. Would like to see DeSantis as Speaker— but Trump supports that moron McCarthy (who was humping former NC Rep. Renee Ellmers- nurse married to a neurosurgeon. Fortunately she was kicked out by a real conservative George Holding (R)-NC. all just imho.
