Well, let’s see, I’ve sprinkled coke on my weed and smoked it before.
Stupid thing to do, I know, but I also committed no violent crime as a result of doing such.
Although I will say, cocaine use caused effects in my mind which I did not like, so I stopped. I believe coke should remain illegal. It’s dangerous as it can cause powerful psychosis at any time.
Every now and then, i like to drink 2 Abita Andygators back to back. Gives me a nice buzz, but no more than that, because I don’t like to be drunk.
I’ve committed no violent crimes while in that state.
Sure, people commit crimes in those circumstances. But I wouldn't say this about it...
Drug use and crime literally go hand in hand.
“Did I imply a correlation?”
Yes, it seemed to me that you did.
Agree...I’m thinking “The_Duag”
either got a “eye hit”, or he needs
to change the bong water...
My sister’s mother-in-law died from Tylenol poisoning. She was a registered nurse, and she ended up with critical liver failure as well.
I have RA, and cannot take any OTCs because of the risk of liver damage. I took some Advil when we evacuated for a hurricane last summer. Just a few tablets over the course of a week showed up in my tests a month later. Most people have no idea of the serious dangers posed by OTCs. All of them are extremely toxic.
weirdly, just recently, several of my coc users who are now over 35, but under 45, had strokes. Two this month. One was even 6 months sober. I think long term cocaine use might give a person higher stroke risks.
It is important to keep pointing out that not all drug use and drug users are going to commit crimes, but there is a correlation between drug use and criminal actions. It just is.
“HEyyy PlAyA, Chu $AayY wHIte-a$$ BoYs $MoKeee AaSS MuChh Dank Aass BlaQQQ FoLKs?? haH!”
Your state must have recently legalized pot.
....cocaine use was by far one of the strongest factors of ischemic stroke in young people. “We set out to understand what factors contribute to stroke risk in young adults,” she said. “Cocaine use is one of the risk factors we investigated and we were surprised at how strong an association there is between cocaine and stroke risk in young adults. We found the stroke risk associated with acute cocaine use is much higher than some other stroke risk factors, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and smoking.”
On causation, consider a personality that is more likely to start getting high and continue getting high. Then consider the fact that the weed changes emotions and perceptions. Consider that getting high lowers inhibitions and often accompanies alcohol use to take the edge of paranoia off and make the high more mellow. Then consider the addiction and the kind of company a head might be keeping after a few years of frequent use. The causes are many.
“Hey, who’s that in the driveway? The cops!”
“What? Ah, man, shut up! You’re freakin’ me out!”
“Yeah, you’re freakin’ out, man! Hey, he’s paranoid!”
“I think I’ll get a beer.”
“Hey, bring me one while you’re at it, man.”
“Why? You freakin’ out or somethin’?”
“This ***t is pretty harsh, man.”
;-D
I have to go and stop laughing for a little bit. This is too much. Have fun, y’all. ;-D
Coke is some evil sh*t.
You won’t see me defending that substance.
It is just bad physically, mentally and spiritually.
Somehow, during my drug use years, I was able to see that it was a dead end road, so I ceased walking that road before long.
Other people I knew at the time walked much further down that road. It destroys, that’s all it does.
To answer your questions more directly, you, your friend and many other people are more resistant to committing crimes than many other people. It’s a “fifty shades of green” kinda thing. ;-)
Words to the wise follow, IMO.
What are your thoughts on Smoking Marijuana? Sadhguru
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S2wAjLwNUs
“A seeker asks Sadhguru about his thoughts on smoking marijuana. Sadhguru presents some excellent insight into the reasons that people smoke and a great alternative to smoking. (SaO69)”
I’ll take it with a large grain of salt - just using painkillers leads to higher tolerance for the drug and less efficacy in pain relief.
From my own personal experience (long ago), this is true.
“It is important to keep pointing out that not all drug use and drug users are going to commit crimes, but there is a correlation between drug use and criminal actions. It just is.”
This is true among a certain portion of the population: usually people living at the extreme edges of human behavior. Not actually representative of the general population which is where these sorts of declarations fall far short of being valid.
There is a great Jordan Peterson lecture on You Tube that point this out in a more scientific fashion. Watch the 1st 20 minutes of his 1st lecture of his Biblical Series: Introduction to the Idea of God. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-wWBGo6a2w&t=1278s The point gets covered very precisely . :)
I think we’ve found the crux: You deal with losers all day. Not just regular losers, but those at the bottom of the social, socioeconomic, and intelligence level.
And guess what?: they smoke pot.
I invite you to look outside that cohort. We’re not all losers - Oh hey, wait up, I need to go beat my common law wife for spilling my Budweiser. Be right back, /s.
Where I live that was called a "Primo".
Gosh, aside from the anti-pot hysteria, this thread has really brought back memories!
They don't want to believe the truth.
