Bloomberg actually thinks he can buy his way into heaven with his political spending. Saw an interview of him last year (60 Minutes) in which he claimed exactly that; he was so proud of the $5 billion he had spent on anti-tobacco efforts.

It’s a pretty good investment for him. He knows he can buy Congressional seats— he’s done it before. Couldn’t buy the Presidency (Hillary), but as a businessman (an evil one, sure, but a successful one) he knows you win some, you lose some. He’s in it for the long haul.
