NORTH KOREA ISN'T DISMANTLING MISSILE FACILITIES, SATELLITE IMAGERY REVEALS
Newsweak ^ | June 15, 2018 | Jason Lemon

Posted on 06/17/2018 11:22:15 AM PDT by lowbridge

There is no visible indication that North Korea has begun dismantling missile launch sites as reportedly promised, according to satellite imagery shared by 38 North.

The program, hosted by the U.S.-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies, analyzed and posted imagery of the known locations of North Korea’s missile launch facilities on Thursday and Friday. According to the analysis, 38 North reported that it could not identify “any activity associated with the dismantlement” at any testing sites.

There are six known launch and engine testing facilities as well as two eject test stands scattered throughout North Korea.

"Of these facilities and test stands, it is likely that President [Donald] Trump’s comment on June 12 regarding the destruction of a '… major missile engine testing site' was not referring to either the Iha-ri test stand—which was razed in May—or the Sinpo South Shipyard test stand that has not been used in approximately a year. And contrary to the president’s statement, both sites have been solely used for ejection tests, not engine tests or launches," the report indicated.

That is the most Salient point. If this reporting organization where the people who are conducting the study are using Google Maps, those can be many months out of date. It is certainly true that our intelligence agencies have more up-to-date information and hopefully know or can see whether these sites have been modified or destroyed or taken down, but I have no reason to believe that the reporting entity in this case has access to those more recent files. If that is the case then these reports are based upon months, perhaps even years old information, and are therefore worthless. That is not to say that the North Koreans are to be trusted blindly. However I trust that liberals who are out to attack Trump will use any sort of omission in their data to support their attacks. That is as certain as the sun coming up tomorrow.

My God,it’s been less than a week.

Rome wasn’t built in a day-——and neither will this dismantling be done in a day.

Newsweek sickens me.

Fake News Lies. They can’t stand Trump and Us winning. BTW they started destroying two sites before the summit as good faith. There was recent sat img. of it posted somewhere with dates. I would bet the agreement was made sometime in april-may with Pompeo/Kim. I would also guess that the sanctions will be pulled in July, after the visit.

We can dismantle everything. And from a distance.

It has been all of a few days. Guess Newsweak expected them to be gone the next day. And I agree with you, nothing out of Newsweak can be believed.

Didn’t Trump say that all this would work out in stages? He doesn’t have a magic wand.

FLASH BULLETIN FOR THE FAKE NEWS INDUSTRY

Dismantling a missile facility or a nuclear material refinery isn’t like taking down a beach umbrella.

It’s slightly more complex.

“Perhaps they should check the dates on their Google Maps. They usually wait at least a year before posting publicly.”

Perhaps you should check the dates on those satellite images.

May, June 2018.

Google Maps? Doesn’t Google Maps work by driving around and taking photos of affected sites?

Plus it’s Newsweak, the rabid anti-Trump liberal rag that sold for $1, was it?

A single copy at the news-stand was $1.50 but you could buy the entire company for $1.00.

LOL. I think you are talking about “street views”, not Google Maps. But they are sort of incorporated into each other at this point, or have been for several years.
