This is the decisive battle of the four year war in Yemen. When this port is taken from the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, it will cut off their weapons/ammunition supply from Iran. It is also the main supply route for the rebel-occupied Capital City of Sana'a. The impending loss of this port is major setback for Iranian influence in the region, and likely will ultimately decide the war Yemen.

Democrats have been trying to stop US support for Saudi. As much as I loath Steny Hoyer, he refuses to get behind efforts to stop the fight against Iran.

“By Wednesday evening, Emirati and Saudi forces were five kilometres south of the city’s airport. The centre of the city of 600,000 people lies four kilometres further north, and the seaport several kilometres beyond that. Fierce clashes were taking place.”

“Wednesday’s offensive was the first time since the coalition joined the war that they have attempted to capture such a well-defended city. Their aim is to box in the Houthis in Sanaa, cut their supply lines and force them to the negotiating table.”

The port of Hodeida is the source of 80% of the essential imports into Yemen, as well as being the main source of revenue for the rebels, and the source of the missiles that have fired into Saudi Arabia.

Iranian-style speedboats supporting the Houthis were sunk by the Coalition Naval forces, and a coordinated air campaign has been launched on Houthi positions.

“Relief ships affiliated with the Coalition are placed off the coast, waiting to dock in Hodiedah. ...prepared (for) a large-scale and comprehensive plan for the rapid delivery of humanitarian aid to Hodeidah and surrounding areas.”

Iran is getting rolled back massively across the Middle East. It has been a tidal wave.

When the US pulled out of the Iran deal, the Treasury Department raided the International bank accounts for Iran’s IRGC, that operates it’s external trouble making.

Israel attacked Iran and it’s surrogates in Syria the next day (within hours actually). The Saudis and Emiratis launched a major campaign against Iranian surrogates in Yemen, right on cue. Suddenly, diplomatic maneuvers propose settling the conflicts in Syria and Yemen, by separating the locals from Iran.

The Iraqi elections this month seem like they will block Iranian surrogates out of the next Government that will form - Gen Sulemani has been ordered out of the country (He had to leave Baghdad, but not Sulemaniya).

In the space of a few weeks, Iran has taken more and bigger hits than they have in many years. At home, they face serious unrest, a shutoff of trade deals, pullout of foreign investment, capital flight, a collapsing currency and a threatened banking system.

Partner, we have had presidents who sided with the regime in Iran long enough ever since President Reagan left office.

President Trump is our new sheriff in town and he will see to it that Iran has fair elections next time around.

We got our hostages back really quick when President Reagan became our president.

The people of Iran want a different leadership instead of the Mullahs who control the political landscape. The Mullahs, unfortunately, will not tolerate a person who goes against the regime.

The Mullah's day is coming soon when they will no longer have the power to ruin the people's lives in Iran.

Most of the people in Iran have ancestors who were converted to that Gutter Religion of Mohammad by the sword.

This is total crap! What is this site & who is using it ????

The word “genocide” is used way too much. But what is going on in Yemen is mass murder & the USA is backing the wrong side.

Thanks for the updates. I am not tired of winning yet. I look forward to another summit where Trump shakes hands with a chastened Mullah and talks about him being a great guy as the Mullah signs away his nuke program.

He Ayotalla, these beaches you have here would look great with condos on them!! Trump towers in Pyongyang and Tehran!!

“This is total crap!”

If you are going to challenge the validity of a report, doing a cursory Google search first might protect you from looking foolish.

I don't know the site either, but that a major offensive is underway is reported in numerous sources.

As to The word “genocide” is used way too much. But what is going on in Yemen is mass murder..., you are absolutely correct. In fact genocide doesn't require murder. Or killing. I bring that point up on rare occasions, but it's rarely made.
