An excellent Congressman during his first stint in the ‘90s. An excellent Governor and once was of Presidential timber... until the affair with the Argentinian and he just lost his mind. A sad shell of a Congressman in his second go-around, turning into an establishment hack and never-Trumper. What a shame. :-(

Kattie Arrington got just over 50% avoiding a runoff ala what happened in Mississippi, the 3rd candidate was a “purple” democrat openly calling for democrats to vote in the GOP primary. Luckily he spent zero dollars and got low single digits.
While clearly disabused of the notion he was POTUS material, I was supportive of Sanford’s congressional comeback, I couldn’t care less about him cheating on his wife (he can join the club), outside of potential general election vulnerability it engendered (that he weathered when he defeated Stephen Colbert’s sister who was supported by a couple psychotic freepers).
But his hardcore never Trump idiocy combined with his joining the global warming crowd made it clear it was time for him to take a permanent hike. Maybe he and Jeff Flake can go climb Mount Everest.
After his prior good service it is a pity he ended up like this. The Morning Joe effect?
