Weinstein Bankruptcy Reveals Money Owed To Malia Obama (394-page list includes charities)

Some names on the list of The Weinstein Company creditors are not unexpected, given the film company’s business dealings over the years: Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Dame Judi Dench.

But some of the thousands of names on the 394-page list of people owed money by the bankrupt company jump off the page, among them David Bowie, Michael Bay, Malia Obama, Boris Becker, Ryan Coogler, Daniel Radcliffe, Robert De Niro and Darlene Love.

Other creditors are less boldfaced but still eye-catching, including the film and television academies, the New York Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department. Another mentioned is one of Harvey Weinstein’s accusers, the model-turned-actress Zoe Brock, is listed, as is YouTuber Casey Niestat.

Many former employees appear, with their address noted as the Weinstein Co.’s main office, 99 Hudson St. (Malia Obama worked as an intern last year, to the surprise of some. The prevalence of reports about Weinstein’s aggressive sexual behavior were rumored, though the full extent of it was not reported until recently.)

Numerous companies are listed as being owed money, from Amazon Studios to Netflix, ABC, CBS and NBC, as are many film exhibitors. Includes a wide range of charities that got stiffed, including the American Cancer Society, the American Fund for AIDS Research and Autism Speaks.

Much of the list is taken up by businesses who make up the day-to-day mechanics of entertainment–scores of florists, trailer houses, publicists and party venues, plus critics groups, film festivals and trade organizations. An Office Depot in Cincinnati. An exterminator in Brooklyn.

The Weinstein Company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last night (March), with a 363 process minimizing the number of bidders. Lantern Asset Management has already come forward with a bid of $310 million in cash, plus $125 million in assumed liabilities and $15 million in fees for current projects. The 363 process will be unfolding over the next few weeks in a Delaware bankruptcy court.

I hope this bankruptcy “stiffs” all of his creditors. There isn’t anyone listed that I would hope gets a dime out of the deal. They are all $hit people!

He probably never even touched Malia. He wouldn’t have dared.

Time to write off what that monster owes you. He won’t be making anything other than license plates at this point.

Nobody’s yet brought up the fact that she was treated like a slave? She toiled hard in the fields of New York, but received no remuneration for her trials and tribulations. Ole Massa gone away!

No doubt barry and mike obozo used malika as some sort of front to hide from taxes. Using your kids as a strawman to cheat the tax man is an old and trued tactic.

I hope SOMEONE in the press starts following this thread.

Hollyweird was going to make a movie of Malia’s plight, but they’ve made a ‘Hate Whitey’ movie every year for the past decade now. Some have even won prizes!

If you’re part of the poundmetoo extortionists group, you’re probably not getting paid by him anymore.

If Malia had been a Bush or Trump etc. it would have been front page news from day one about her ties to Weinstein, real or imagined.

Since this is a company bankruptcy, not personal, I wonder if Harvey golden-parachuted his way out of financial trouble.

I also wonder if he'll skate on the rape accusations.

Maria Contreras-Sweet official portrait as 24th Administrator of the Small Business Administration. In office April 7, 2014 – January 20, 2017. Appointed by Obama.

She was formerly the executive chairwoman and founder of ProAmérica Bank, a commercial bank focusing on small to mid-sized businesses with a specialty in the Latino community.

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Contreras-Sweet immigrated to Los Angeles, California and has since been involved in both the private sector founding a private equity firm and in public service as the California Secretary of Business, Transportation, and Housing under Governor Gray Davis. On January 15, 2014, she was nominated by President Barack Obama to join his Cabinet as head of the Small Business Administration.[1] She was confirmed as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration by voice vote on March 27, 2014.

She assumed that role on April 7, 2014. In November 2017, Contreras-Sweet placed a $275 million bid on American film studio The Weinstein Company, after the studio's founder Harvey Weinstein was fired after dozens of women accused him of sexual abuse.

Contreras-Sweet proposed turning The Weinstein Company into a female-led company. The studio was expected to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on February 26, 2018 before Contrera-Sweet's company reached a deal to purchase the company on March 1, 2018 for $500 million, including a $90 million victims compensation fund.

On March 6, 2018, the acquisition deal collapsed after the studio had an extra debt of $50 million revealed.

As of February 2018, several companies had sued TWC, including American Express ($1.4 million), chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli ($133,333),and Canadian film distributor Entertainment One ($7.2 million for Paddington 2). In March 2018, shortly after the studio filed for Chapter 11 protection, the Bankruptcy Court in Delaware published a 394-page list of creditors owed money from TWC; including the estate of rock musician David Bowie, film director Michael Bay, and Malia Obama.
