Hobart and William Smith Colleges is offering a course next year to teach students how objectivity and meritocracy function as white mythologies.
White Mythologies: Objectivity, Meritocracy, and Other Social Constructions is a sophomore-level course taught by Kendralin Freeman and Jason Rodriguez, who are sociology and anthropology professors, respectively.
"Students will explore how systematic logics that position the West and whiteness as the ideal manifest through such social constructions as objectivity, meritocracy, and race."
This course explores the history and ongoing manifestations of white mythologieslong-standing, often implicit views about the place of White, male, Euro-American subjects as the norm, explains the course description, which adds that students will also explore how systematic logics that position the West and whiteness as the ideal manifest through such social constructions as objectivity, meritocracy, and race.
Though neither Freeman or Rodriguez responded to a request for more information from Campus Reform, both professors have worked together for a few years, and notably co-authored an article in the journal of Whiteness and Education together.
In that article, Freeman and Rodriguez argue that despite the good intentions of white students and community members, calls for intersectionality and diversity on campus may actually derail dialogue about racism and inadvertently recenter whiteness. romote white privilege, as well, since those diversity efforts are often couched in neoliberal sloganeering as opposed to an acknowledgment that racism still exists. . . .
They also contend that efforts to increase minority representation on college campuses may actually paddressing the unfair, systematic advantages that white subjects experience, but are instead framed as either avenues for addressing historical injustices or issues of simple underrepresentation, they write.

A Sociology degree is its own reward.
since the “course creators” are tossing out “objectivity”, I believe that this course will not have a leg to stand on, without attempting to define which kind of leg from what kind of furniture, with no specifics as the rule.
It’s summer. All of the snowflakes have melted, except at the highewt altitudes.
This is also known as the “Up Is Down” course. Or “Truth Is Relative.” Another PoMo lie.
[In short, no amount of appeasement and boot-licking will satisfy the race pimps.]
Yes, there is no money in “peaceful coexistence”.
Self reliance can go a long way.

NOt even going to comment on such idiocy.
Course claims objectivity is a white mythology.
That would imply their course is totally subjective.
This is really a course in rejecting Judeo-Christian values. It has nothing to do with whiteness and males. They use those terms to mask their underlying anti-God philosophy.
A sociology degree means you can spread the same lies as a teacher of lies, to more people who will carry on the same. Nothing else.
The pimps are stymied by the “trans” population who have torn a hole in the racial wall. If you can decide your gender, you can decide your race. We have several famous examples of that. Asking someone to prove their race or gender is discriminatory.
Each racial group wants the whole pie and they don’t want to share it. That creates friction.
I assume no grades will be given then...
> Course claims objectivity is a white mythology <
Well, sure it is. And it was the ancient Greeks (a bunch of white guys!) who developed modern arithmetic.
That’s why I’ve long advocated that the correct answer to 1+1 is any number except 2, because 2 is the answer those white guys have foisted on society.
In the bad old days adults used to frighten kids with scary tales about a black Boogieman.
Now that we are enlightened they try to frighten other adults with scary tales about a white Boogieman.
College is also a white construct and all college professors are the tools of white privilege. In the name of diversity these two clowns should resign in shame.
Any whining about white mythology or white privilege or any other anti-white sentiments can basically be viewed as a tacit admission that the speaker of those sentiments feels somehow inferior and must lash out in frustration at his inability to rise above his own failings, in a futile attempt to justify his own shortcomings and/or prejudices.
Caveat: I’m not a psychiatrist and I reserve the right to be wrong.
More proof that Liberalism is more of a religious cult than an actual idealism. A person has to have a lot of faith to buy into this sort of malarkey. There was a time when anyone talking this sort of gibberish would be committed or tested for drugs. But apparently this level of stupid is contagious and acceptable.
