It's no secret that President Donald Trump loathes his attorney general, Jeff Sessions. The reason it's no secret is because on a weekly basis -- and sometimes even a daily basis -- the President is tweeting his distaste for Sessions.
Just when you thought the bullying couldn't get any worse -- Trump has repeatedly said he would never and should never have hired Sessions, called him "beleaguered," "very weak" and "disgraceful," and reportedly refers to the former Alabama senator as "Mr. Magoo" -- today happened.
The scene: A FEMA briefing in which Trump and a number of his Cabinet officials were seated around a table. For most of the Cabinet officials, Trump was effusive in his praise of the job they were doing. And then there was Sessions.
Here's what Trump said about each of the Cabinet members; I saved Sessions until last because, well, you'll see.
* Secretary of State Mike Pompeo: "Mike. Mike, another great job you are doing. Secretary Michael Pompeo. We're keeping him very busy. We're keeping you so busy. You're going to be flying -- a lot of flying in the next couple of weeks. But what a job you've done, and we appreciate it. The whole country appreciates it, Mike. Thank you very much." (57 total words)
* Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin: "Steve Mnuchin. Steve, wherever you may be. He's working hard on those taxes and keeping the taxes down. We passed the greatest tax cut in the history of our country, and lots of other things. And thank you very much. Great. I think we say that we have had the strongest -- this is the strongest, from an economic standpoint, that our country has ever been. We're doing better in terms of business, in terms of unemployment. Talk about click bait. An endless article about Trump saying - “Thank you very much”.
Someone at CNN actually counted all the words in each address. That’s not something an ordinary person can do, by the way. And it’s worth whatever big bucks they’re getting, definitely.

I heard DJT at the meeting. He lavished praise on everyone, giving specific compliments all over the place, except Sessions. When he came to the AG, he just said his name and Thank You....and moved on to give more lavish praise to the subsequent people. It was LOVELY.
I just wish the camera would have shown Session’s face, so I could have seen his reaction. The sanctimonious, arrogant, holier-than-thou creature is no no better than McTraitor, and deserves the same fate.
Software can most likely do that.
It means he gave Sessions a virtual middle finger.
CNN, and its employees, are losing their minds.
Are they even going to make it to November without self-destructing?
They’ve already destroyed their own ratings in their spiteful quest to bring down President Trump, still they don’t care, they’re totally caught up in the hate 24-7 and can’t let go
Nothing would make CNN and the Never-Trumpers happier than to relieve Trump of the Evangelical vote. This article is aimed purely at that objective.
This is just fodder for the lunatic kabuki theory. The TRUST SESSIONS crew will see in those 11 words a coded, super-secret message [of staunch approval] that only Sessions and the Qers can unravel. The fuel is on the fire, and the craziness will flare up afresh.
More over-the-top fake outrage by Trump, who has never actually gotten around to firing his attorney general. And judging by the enemy article, it’s still working.
Its hard to sympathize with poor ole jeff. He shoulda told trump he thought he had to recuse himself before he got appointed, not after. He deserves all the contempt he is getting. From all corners. His stupid unnecessary action has led to this 15 month melodrama for absolutely nothing.

That misses the point. Trump gave 50-150 word praises to each cabinet official. When he got to Sessions he said:

Isn’t it interesting that they attack President Trump for his claiming it was a mistake to appoint Jeff Sessions as AG, but it’s fine for John McCain to insult Sarah Palin by saying asking her to be his VP running mate was a mistake.
Normally if your boss publicly calls you an incompetent, weak, ineffective leader who makes bad decisions most people with any degree of self respect would quit. But not ole jeff.
