Napolitano has no credibility with me, he’s dead wrong on too many issues. Gowdy is playing a role and I am now convinced he is part of the Deep State.
Right, Papadopoulos said that the Russians had Hillary's emails that would be damaging to her. There was no statement along the line that Trump had anything to do with it to start off this investigation. Nonetheless, that's what the FBI went for.
And yet, one or more (well-paid) people sought close connection to Trump, not to Papadopoulos. Trump and the rest of his campaign encourage had their 4th Amendment rights without a legal predicate.
This certainly stinks to high heaven. Elected officials' deficiency to bring these criminals to justice (e.g., Gowdy and Keebler boy) means the citizenry will be left to take up the slack, and that will be not be as official-looking.
The fact is, Brennan was directly manipulating the FBI to do his (that is, on behalf of his CIA creation, BHO) bidding to continue the BHO-DS-SES-CIA legacy by working to assure a H-> victory. Clapper and Brennan agree that's how things ought to work (as they sought to put their fourth branch of government in charge of the other three.
He has to know that nobody... not even the Trump haters believe that. All Gowdy is saying is that he is on their side.

Then I’ll state it differently: Believing that Gowdy is somehow positioning himself for a smooth AG confirmation process by his recent public pronouncements, would require a similar suspension of reality to believe that Sessions is working behind the scenes to bring indictments against officials of the previous administration.
I can't tell if Gowdy is being purposefully dense or not, but I can think of a few more things the FBI could have or should have done.
If the FBI says they were running down a lead within the Trump camp about Russian access to Clinton documents, shouldn't Gowdy wonder if the FBI also had someone in the Clinton campaign to look for continued surreptitious document access ALONG WITH having someone in the Trump campaign to see if relations with Russians actually exist?
Both ends of the interference, not just the Trump side of suspicious coordination, but the corresponding Clinton side of actual document retrieval, too?
He's a bright man. He should know the difference between a real counter-intelligence operation out of real fear, and a CYA excuse to explain away getting caught red-handed.
If this is how Gowdy is responding now, I don't want him anywhere near the AG role - he's already demonstrated that he's willing to bend over backwards to give too-big-to-jail benefit of doubt to Democrats wherever and whenever he can.
