An “informant” is like a guy who goes to his regular Wednesday night poker game with the neighborhood hoodlums, listens to one of them brag about knocking over the corner grocery store, and then rats on him to law enforcement. By contrast, a “spy” like Stephan Halper organizes the poker game, invites some acquaintances to play (and even pays some of them to do so), plies them with information from law enforcement about the grocery store heist, and then tells law enforcement that the acquaintances have information about the heist.
Nope, he’s been fullashit from day one. He just used to talk big and fooled a lot of people.

Yes, I understand the difficulties presented by the Mueller investigation but if the DOJ wants any credibility at all it should immediately hand over all requested documents to Congress. Rosenstein and Rip Van Sessions should be held in contempt of congresss.

Gowdy is in-artfully trying to make a point that information that comes to the DOJ-FBI radar screen can cause them to inspect what is going on and that this does not mean they have acted improperly.
I think that is childishly simple minded. First, why should they have the ability and power to insert “spys” into the political process? What strictures does “big brother” have on his ability to protect us.
Second, the Hillary SOS tenure and her campaign were the center of corruption and alleged criminal conduct, they conducted no similar insertion into her snake pit.
Gowdy needs to answer why this power exists at all and if it exists, why is it applied in an arbitrary manner debasing all the institutions, including his own, with its conduct.
No sane person could ever have made the comment that he did.
How embarrassing for Gowdy. Today he exposed himself as wholly owned by the Deep State.

Sure, Trey. In an ideal world where justice is blind and uncorruptable.
In this world, however, with this Justice department, the principle was not notified; the spy created a phoney trail leading to an attempt to impeach a president with false e3vidence; the other party was protected from an investigation that would have quickly led to criminal charges; and, the American people are feed up with being “fair” with criminals.

The FBI should have notified Trump about any monitoring of his campaign period. It has nothing to do with whether it was justified or not.
