I never considered him a hero. He, like Miss Lindsey, was always gunning for the cameras.
My BIL was a former White House Press Reporter. He said most GOP members of Congress would avoid speaking to the press because they always thought it was a trap. That could be true.
But he said Lindsey Graham was always traipsing up to the reporters and cameras just a smiling and a carrying on like Gomer la ii da ti da. Graham was a camera hog.
So I asked BIL what would happen and he told me he would let Graham have his say because he was about the only member that would talk to the Press.
I think it’s similar with Gowdy.
And yes, it seems like deep state hooligans have got something on Mr. Trey. It’s all too obvious.

Just recently, Gowdy was baiting President Trump to talk with Mueller. “If you didn’t rob the bank, why not talk with the investigators”?

Trey Gowdy scuttled the Benghazi investigation. The 6th Fleet which patrols the eastern Mediterranean had to be monitoring the distress calls. Any Commander would immediately steam toward the trouble, organize whatever Marines and Seals he had on board and would have prepared an assault team to helicopter in as soon as he was in range. The commander of those ships had to receive an order to stand down and do nothing while hard pressed Americans were engaged, under assault and dying. Gowdy refused to have the Admiral commanding the 6th Fleet testify. Always suspected the Left had something on this guy and am not surprised or disappointed that he is retiring.

And it will be found the Fbidoj was behind the Media pressure for Trump to publicly name Foreign Policy advisers.

He said that he is retiring months ago. That didn't make sense, so now we'll have to wait to see just how "sweet a pot" he was offered to leave. He was also probably threatened with being outted for something or other as well, or he's always been a damned #NEVERTRUMPER, but hid it until recently.
Gowdy has always been a Cheap Labor Express stooge.
