Watergate prosecutor: Giuliani has admitted Mueller has good obstruction case

A former Watergate prosecutor said late Tuesday that President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani basically "admitted" that special counsel Robert Mueller has a good case for obstruction of justice.

Assistant Watergate special prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks said on MSNBC's "The 11th Hour with Brian Williams" that Giuliani's recent comments about limiting the questions Mueller's team could ask Trump about collusion and obstruction could be a basis for that case.

"He said, 'Oh I'm fine with collusion because there’s no collusion, but obstruction, that’s a matter of interpretation,'" Wine-Banks said. "And it isn’t. Facts are a funny thing. The truth and the facts will come out, and I don’t think it’s going to show that it’s a matter of interpretation, but of guilt."

Is it a obstruction of justice to refuse to hand over documents, to slow walk releases, to lie about spying and then try to justify it,...

do they really think all their BS and smears and lies... really influence that may people? some, yes... I guess that’s enough for them... to just sway as many susceptible folks as they possibly can

all I can say is that I’ve seen political smear campaigns before but the extremist left-wing media and its political operatives.....these last couple of years would have made Gobbels proud!

Just as property asset forfeitures should be dependent on actual charges being filed against someone, obstruction of justice charges should be dependent on actual charges related to the alleged obstruction should be filed.

Were this the law, Martha Stewart and Scooter Libby wouldn’t have gone to jail.

Of course, this so-called Watergate prosecutor sees nothing wrong with Obama committing acts of insurrection to overthrow a presidential election.

I'm not seeing anything in the story that supports the assertion of the headline, other than the reporter's wishful thinking.

Assistant Watergate special prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks is clearly a horse’s ass. First you need a crime to obstruct and second Trump is the president so he is not technically but legally and actually in charge of the investigation screw the New York Times.

The act of defending oneself against the false charge of treason, has magically become “obstruction”. Everytime the President says, accurately, that “these accusations are baseless lies” then it suddenly means he is obstructing justice? What kind of Kakfaesque-Orwellian bullshit is that? You accuse me of treason against the United States, and I call you a liar, and then you say “well now we are adding obstruction since calling Mueller a liar is obstruction.” Mueller is lying, and has evidence of nothing. I am tired of his process crimes and his parlor games. Time to get rid of Mueller and the lying weasel Weissman. Let them go back to the private sector, or maybe writing appeals for Whitey Bulger.

Mueller is not running a criminal investigation, he is running a counter intelligence investigation. Show me the evidence of the Russian espionage? He needs to be overseen by an adult, and Sessions has given up and helped destroy the Constitution.

If I am the President I am taking Mueller back to day 1, and demanding the evidence of Russian conspiracy which supposedly put Trump in power. We need to look at this in an open book. That is why Mueller was hired. Yet, Mueller has no such evidence, and is therefore trying for a perjury trap or a ridiculous obstruction charge, when the predicate crime has yet to be committed. We are in upside down land, when criminal charges bounce around in hot breaths on CNN, but Mueller is virtually empty handed in court. What did Trump obstruct? Give me the statute. Give me the crime in which he prevented justice from moving forward. Calling Mueller a liar, when he lies, is not obstruction.

If DOJ would fork over the Mueller appointment letter executed by Rosenweasel, we would know Mueller’s actual scope of authority. I suspect it’s limited to investigation of “Russian collusion”. So, whatever delusions The Mule may have about obstruction, petty theft, or jay walking are irrelevant.

Innocence of any charge is not a defense for resisting arrest.

Let's face it, we are now a police state.
