Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) shared the heartwarming moment Saturday that Utah native Joshua Holt and his wife were reunited with his parents after two years of imprisonment by the Venezuelan government.

Holt, a Mormon, flew to Venezuela to marry Venezuelan resident Thamara Holt, who he had met online. Venezuela has held Holt and his wife on weapons charges without a trial since 2016.
Sen. Hatch first announced news of Holt's release on Twitter early Saturday.
Holt’s parents, Jason and Laurie Holt, expressed their gratitude and eagerness to be reunited with their son.
“As announced by the president, our son and his wife will be released today. We thank you for your collaboration during this time of anguish,” the Holt family said before meeting their son at the airport. “We ask that you allow us to meet with our son and his wife before giving any interviews and statements. We are grateful to all who participated in this miracle.”
The couple was released shortly after Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-TN) met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. He said in a statement that, at Sen. Hatch’s request, he began discussions with the Venezuelan government about Holt earlier this year and was “honored to play a small role in bringing Josh and his wife home to the United States.”

The couple will be meeting with President Trump at the White House this evening.

I am happy this man is now home.
However, there are innumerable women whom this man could have found right here in the US.

Back in the 90’s I had a PC that I built, and an internet connection. A friend of mine would come over once a week just to visit a singles chat room. Eventually, he decided to open a singles chat for Christians when MSN had that. Facebook wasn’t a thing yet. It didn’t take but a few weeks for his chatroom to hop big time. There were hundreds of chatters in his room. One day he received an email from a woman, and they hit it off. She was from the Philippines, a doctor. He had a face impediment and so did she. It wasn’t very long before they met in person, she was living in Canada, so she flew in to meet him. Over a year or two, they fell in love, and they married. But she had to return to Canada because her visa ran out. He put the process thru the paces, and got her to be able to come in legally as a permanent resident. And then she became a citizen, got her pharmacy licence because the US wouldn’t accept her MD credentials, but did honor some of her efforts.
They’ve been married ever since, and have a child.
He’d been all over the world during his years in National guard, but that special someone wasn’t found till that chatroom happened. It took almost two years from their wedding until she could come “home” to her new husband, but they did it. It was agonal for them at times.
There may be 350 million or so people in this country, but you never know where this special person will be found.
Both of them relief heavily on God to bring them together from around the world.
I do hope this Neely freed man and his wife, the best.
Maybe she was a fellow Mormon? Who knows why people do the idiotic things they do.

I do think some Freepers could be a tad less judgmental.
So he met a woman online. Lots of people meet that way these days. He didn’t deserve to be thrown into a Venezuelan prison over it.
Orrin has be in in the senate for 128 years, he had plenty of time to get our hostages released. Let’s be honest here. It was President Trump who got this guy out.
