Ireland Vote to Legalize Abortion Called a “Tragedy of Historic Proportions.”
LIFE NEWS ^ | May 26, 2018 | Steven Ertelt

Posted on 05/26/2018 8:44:06 AM PDT by Morgana

Leading pro-life campaigners from around the world are dismayed at the results from Ireland today, which show that the long-time pro-life nation has abandoned its legal protections for unborn children and will eventually approve legislation that will legalize abortions on babies as old as 6 months.

To say that the pro-life movement is in a state of shock and disappointment this morning would be to understate the situation. At the same time, pro-life advocates promised to be vigilant against abortion and to help women find pro-life solutions in unplanned pregnancy situations.

A leading pro-life group said Saturday that Ireland’s decision to overturn its 8th Amendment protecting women and unborn children has resulted in a “tragedy of historic proportions.”

The Save the Eighth group said: “What Irish voters did yesterday is a tragedy of historic proportions. However, a wrong does not become right simply because a majority support it.”

John McGuirk, spokesman for the Save the 8th group, said Irish pro-life advocates would not stop fighting abortion despite the result, as a considerable amount of voters will “still passionately believe that the decision of the people is wrong.”

Ireland “weighed it in the balance and it came down on one side,” he told Irish broadcaster RTE. “I obviously would have preferred if they had come down on the other.”

He said it is unlikely pro-life advocates would be able to stop the legislation in Parliament to legalize abortions.

“There is no prospect of the legislation not being passed,” McGuirk added.

Cora Sherlock of the ProLife Campaign called the vote “a very sad state of affairs” but said the “pro-life movement will rise to any challenge it faces” and resist what she called the trend toward abortion on demand.

Meanwhile, pro-life advocates in the United States were equally disappointed.

Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, told LifeNews: “The referendum in Ireland yesterday took away protection from children in the womb. Those who voted to remove that protection, which was given by the 8th Amendment to the Irish Constitution, have made a grave mistake.”

“The referendum itself, of course, is morally illicit. No referendum can remove fundamental rights. We cannot vote as a society to approve slavery, terrorism, or child abuse. Neither does any vote on abortion make it permissible. A nation may fail to recognize the child’s rights, but it cannot remove them,” Pavone said. “The tears of joy that some pro-abortion fanatics have today are a foreshadowing of the tears of grief that will flood the Irish cities and countryside as mothers abort their children. They will find, as we have found in America, that abortion solves no problems, but only creates new ones. Hear for yourselves the voices of these moms, dads and families of our Silent No More Campaign at AbortionTestimonies.com.”

Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins said, “Ireland will now join that sad community of nations who throw away irreplaceable human beings through abortion on demand.”

She told LifeNews: “Clearly the abortion industry and their political and cultural allies put preborn life in the crosshairs, working to push this tragic conclusion to all efforts to protect both mother and preborn child. Still, it’s a tragedy that the Irish people did not learn from our mistakes and have failed to provide pro-life protections in the law. As a result of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, we in the U.S. mourn more than 60 millionlives lost and horrific consequences for the women who endured the lies and impact of abortion. Ireland will not face a loss they can’t calculate.”

Recently, Irish psychiatrists wrote a letter, discussed in the Irish Times, arguing that the pro-abortion laws that those opposed to Amendment 8 are pushing would twist the real purpose and professional ethics of true healthcare providers. Abortion advocates want to use “mental health” as a reason for abortion, and want the law to allow for mental health abortions after 12 weeks of pregnancy.

The psychiatrists wrote: “We do not want to see spurious appeals to ‘mental health’ being used to justify post-12 week abortions …To use ‘health’ as a justification for abortion, when the vast majority of abortions do not take place on any kind of health ground, inverts the true purpose of medicine and doctors who value their calling should have nothing to do with this.”

Ireland has been long dead. Only a spiritually dead nation could redefine marriage in the first place.

The cathiloc Church is the universal Church made up of all believers washed by the blood of Christ while the Catholic Church is a specific denomination causing confusion when posting That is the reason I use the Roman designation is to avoid confusion

I respected some of their methods, e.g. when Michael Collins changed the nature of the struggle by targeting specific British officials and making it up close and personal for the Brits, extracting a very expensive price for their role. They lost me with the indiscriminate carnage wrought with the bombs.

When you see the devilish glee on those women’s faces it is easy to believe that. Take into account that in the late sixties a self professed Satanist named Anton LeVey was made a celebrity, I say he was made a celebrity because if the billion dollar mass media did not promote his image all over the newspapers no one would have ever heard of him and he would not have had any influence on our culture.

When you see that video of the abortionists discussing prices for baby parts it is not too farfetched to think that there are people who are engaged in really diabolical and savage things that have been, up till now inconceivable to our imaginations.

Wellll, actually, he didn't.

But here's the h** of it. He's so ambiguous that people can and will take it that way, and he won't do a thing to correct that.

I just saw a YouTube of a liberal talking head named David Pakman on "Ring of Fire," which is a PBS-related radio news and opinion thing. (Don't know much about him, he seems like a male Rachel Maddow.) He was discussing whether it's really "news" and whether it really "changed anything" when Pope Francis told Juan Carlos Cruz, the Chilean abuse victim, that "gay" is not a problem "because God made you like this and God loves you like this, and I don't care, the pope loves you, you have to learn to be happy with who you are."

OK, found it, here it is: Pope says "God made you like this (Pakman video)"

The upshot was, Pakman says this is a nothingburger because what the pope undoubtedly means is "God created everyone and God loves everyone blah-blah-blah" but it doesn't change the bottom line, which is that if you DO gay sex you'll go to hell forever.

Now, you and I know that ambiguity is always the devil's best friend. No LGBT agenda-pusher ever says, "Hey, I get horny and I have this crazy drive to sodomize another man up the --- or be sodomized up the--- " you know. No, it's always like, "Marriage EQUALITY" and "Love equals LOOOOVE." "It's who I AM and who I LOVE."

And Pope Francis always advances his point, not by clear explanation but by sly subversion. It's all obscure footnotes, stage-whispers, off-the-cuff remarks, hugs and hints and supposedly private conversations that get leaked--- a kind of verbal legerdemain.

It's almost worse than on-the-nose false doctrine, because you can nail false doctrine. What's much harder to nail is, "Maybe you could construe it this way, or maybe what he really meant to say is.."

Slippery devil, he is.

Aborted baby parts trafficking is not a hypothetical. It has been proven through undercover video to exist.

https://www.nationalreview.com/2017/05/undercover-video-center-medical-progress-exposes-gruesome-abortion-practices

Many such videos exist and they have been ordered by courts to be kept under seal, not allowed to show or distribute. But many such videos have managed to get out. The liar media, however, have a news blackout on them and anything connected.

I am more convinced in the last few years that the abortion business is in it for the baby parts.

I had heard about 15 years ago that the Germans were using aborted baby tissue in cosmetics and it was hard to believe. Then little by little I had more information and it was quite disturbing to think about. I became more pro-life politically. Where I live I would remain quiet because the reality is too hard to believe. But if there was a pro-life candidate on a ballot, I would weigh my vote in that direction.

The Apostolic Signatura (Catholic equiv. of the Supreme Court) ruled that abortion-supporters should not receive Communion or any other ecclesial munus (service) including a Catholic Funeral, until they repent. Although Card. Burke was dropped from his position on the Signatura by Pope Francis, this ruling has never been rescinded, nor the legislation on which it was based (Canon Law 915).

Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden were publicly told not to come forward to receive; I don't know how many may have been told privately.

We all know Ted Kennedy --- with no sign of repentance --- got a grand and glittering funeral that looked and smelled like a canonization.

This is all the horrendous result of the failure of the Roman Catholic Church to uphold and to teach the foundational doctrines of the Catholic faith. Some pope (was it Pius IX?) said all the errors of the modern world are caused by Catholics not living and acting like Catholics.

The believers are crushed with pain and shame. But the traitors are shameless.

Bergoglio didn’t say a word before or after the vote. Three years ago when the Irish people voted in homosexual “marriage” Bergoglio didn’t say a word about it before or after. He’s to blabbing about global warming and
gun control.

First you get them dependent on government benefits. Now they have no challenges. That turns them into soft sheep. Then you turn them into atheistic materialists. Takes longer, but the end result is no faith, no principles, no value system.

The rest is very easy. They will accept anything you tell them to do.

Vatican II was totally designed and intended by Archbishop Bugnini (Secretary of the Council, twice dismissed for cause, and later exiled when his Freemason credentials were discovered) and his Masonic Protestant cohorts, to be ambiguous, so that they could later implement the documents in a heterodox way, while at the same time they would tell the faithful: “oh, but we mean this to be interpreted in an orthodox way.”

Pope Francis is but the poisonous fruit of the poisonous tree that is and was Vatican II. Pope Benedict the XVI is a coward, who, while perhaps the worst pope in Church history for reason of his surrender to the “Pink Mafia” that runs the Vatican, is likely still the legitimate pope - since his supposed “resignation” was done under fear, and in grave error (his attempt to bifurcate the papacy), which thus violates Canon 188.

Vatican II has all but destroyed the Church. How much more must happen before faithful Catholics quit being blind, dumb and lazy, and return to the traditional Mass of Saint Pope Pius V - who codified it at the Council of Trent, and stated in his papal bull (constitution) ‘Quo Primum’ that the Tridentine Rite is the Mass to be said in perpetuity, and that any who attempted to change it would be held in anathema, suffering the wrath of Sts. peter and Paul.

Notwithstanding the “Novus Ordo Mass” of Bugnini, the Mass for all time is still the only legitimate Mass. The NO, while possibly valid (depending on the intent of the priest - if he truly is a priest, since Vatican II also changed the right of Ordination) is nevertheless illicit, b/c it violates Quo Primum.

“Pope” Francis may think his pronouncements, his dictates, and he himself the “magisterium” of the Church - but in habit of speech and temperament, he is an anti-pope and a heretic.

Dear Benedict. I don't know whether he is in fact a coward, or whether he is not in his right mind.

I know that sounds like tinfoil-hattery, but the Soviet Psikhushkas developed a whole armamentarium of mind control drugs and techniques to degrade the mental and moral integrity of those under their power, and we can't fool ourselves that all that stuff was abandoned when the Soviet era came to its official close.

There is a man running in the California elections who works in some biological type of work. Scientists usually don’t run for politics, this made me wonder if he was connected to the abortion/fetus baby parts business. A while back there was a big push to use embryonic stem cells to heal disease. Pro-life people sounded the alarm that this was not necessary and adult stem cells were better for healing. As usual, the story was slanted and written in code as most news stories are but even then I became suspicious that the abortion business had all of these frozen embryos laying around and they wanted to make some money off of them. Then a couple of years ago the undercover baby parts video came out and we saw the abortion ghouls at their worse. These people love to kill babies.
