There’s something going on in Florida with the school system. They’ve rigged it to be some baby-sitting service for troublesome kids. It’s not an educational system.
Well the Gold Coast of Florida is practically a communist enclave.
But if you believe this isn’t happening in a lot of counties around the country then I think you’re deceiving yourself.

I understand the context of your comment, but for many of us, we NEVER looked at schools as anything but free day care for our kids. One only has to look at Common Core to understand that - I don’t think it’s possible for ANY KID to learn the basics in Common Core alone. Either, the kid gets some parallel education, maybe tutoring, Kumon, etc., or he fails.
Given the option of playing defense and TRYING to keep up with what’s being ‘taught’, many here simply push our kids ahead by 2 or more years. Then we can send them to school, the school can have them ‘learn math’ by drawing pictures of George Washington Carver, or whatever they do now, but our kids at least are not taken down by it. To them, it’s just a game doing it ‘the school’s way’, when they know the right way and can quickly check their own answers.
...and sadly that applies to many, probably most now, private schools. They get dragged along by the public schools and brought down with them.
Its easy to understand, don’t charge these thugs with crimes and the crime rate goes down, on paper. The liberals are happy and everyone else be damned.
