You would be amazed to find out just how many drugs and human trafficking go through Iowa. I-35 and I-80 intersect in Des Moines. Both of the roads go border to border respectively.

Well, it would appear I won this debate.

Thank you for your sheer shallowness, mapffel.

You seem to be unable to understand the difference between being pro drug and anti drug war. I don’t support recreational drug use, nor do I believe that the draconian government responses are rational or efficacious. I didn’t buy Hillary’s intent defense, nor do I buy some intent requirement for building a bomb or a lethal chemical agent.

Illegal drug labs present a danger to others regardless of one’s ideology. So does producing and distributing mass amounts of fentanyl. Prosecuting criminals engaged is such activities doesn’t require buying into mass surveillance, asset forfeiture, or torturing patients with chronic pain.

Yes, oxy was sold through various pill mills and the effect was bad, but those activities were illegal. Everyone involved committed felonies and many were legitimately prosecuted. Since that time, legal opioid use has been vastly restricted and monitored.

The fentanyl crisis bears no resemblance to the oxy scheme. First and foremost is that the fentanyl is not being prescribed by doctors—legal or otherwise. This drug is primarily manufactured in China and illegally distributed via Mexican cartels. There is no intersection between legal medicinal channels and the illegal trade.

The fentanyl threat needs to be clearly identified and addressed directly. Conflating prescription opioid use with street fentanyl is not only wrong, it’s harmful to patients and inhibits law enforcement efforts.

If a person is stupid enough to take that poison, they’re stupid enough to suffer the consequences.

Just up to the point where your own child dies from overdosing. Then your attitude changes to the opposite side where clear minded adults reside.

Fentanyl is frequently used in controlling cancer pain. You should try checking your facts before you make a dumb statement like there is no medical use for fentanyl. “Better keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot than open it and remove all doubt”. Mark Twain

You should read the thread before calling names. I have addressed medical use numerous times; however, there is no medical purpose for a hundred pounds of fentanyl.

You should be more careful of what you say. Your statement was”There is no medical use for fentanyl”. If you say something obviously wrong expect to get called on it, and I am under no obligation to read the whole thread on the off chance that you said some other statement which would ameliorate your dead flat wrong comment.

I love the sensitivity of some freepers who are unable to take the slightest criticism. Oh and btw i dont have the slightest idea of how much fentanyl is used for legitimate medical purposes, but in a country of 320,000,000 I suspect it could possibly be in the hundreds of pounds (but maybe not -that again is a statement of your opinion related as fact)

Yes It would depend on the Plant Flow in MGD. Are You asking about a Small Town/Rural Community or something like a Major Metro area ? (Less than 1 MGD or more like 50/500 MGD or more (MGD=Million Gallons per Day [24 hours]) The formula for any Chemical Dosage is this: (mg/L [of Chem] (MGD) (8.34 lbs gal) = lbs/day of Chem NOT the same a Pi are Square/ Cake are round🙄

What about a city of 150,000 vs a city of 250,000?

The morgue is chocked full of kids that were trained and educated much better than your kids.
I’m very sorry for your ignorance. Sad l, but I can understand why people think that way. You are not alone that is for certain.

"The morgue is chocked full of kids that were trained and educated much better than your kids."

My comments must have touched a nerve. My original statement was a general statement, not directed at you or anyone else in particular. You don't know anything about my children's training or education, and to claim otherwise is, as you say, moronic.

I stand by my original statement, and will clarify it, just so there is no misunderstanding. Anyone who knowingly takes these drugs for recreational purposes is stupid, and deserves whatever consequences may come of it.

Same calculation just change MGD/GPD In the Math.

If You can give Me specific MGD/GPD (Gallons per day) I can give better information.

The details on MGD should be available on the Systems Yearly Water Quality Report along with other info.

“There is no effective death penalty”

That’s good. Actually the best reason to oppose the death penalty is to deny the government this power. Governments have a monopoly on force with the exception of the 2nd amendment exercised in extremis.

We have all seen abuse of power by 0bama and hitlery. Framing Trump with FBI spies, IRS targeting conservatives, fast and furious targeting gun owners, and on and on it goes. You know that eventually, the leftists and socialists will gain power so watch out. They will weaponize all agencies and legal institutions to take down their enemies much more thoroughly.

Look, no one likes drug dealers here. But who’s to say if government agents wouldn’t abuse their power to set people up. Sorry, I just don’t trust these government agencies or the criminal justice system much anymore.
