Shouldn’t people be allowed to carry such gas?

Shouldn’t it only be illegal when used illegally?

I would believe it was to be cut with other drugs.

This is supposed to be really cheap to produce, but very dangerous to properly dose.

> Well, if drug traffickers get the death penalty, they will fight to the death in any encounter with law enforcement. <

Good point. But that’s where plea bargaining comes in. Let it be known: Plead guilty to drug trafficking, and get 25 years. That’s better than a police bullet in a back alley, or a lethal injection.

Fight the charge in court, and then you’ll risk lethal injection.

The following amounts are generally considered to be lethal doses for these opiate drugs for an average person who has not developed tolerance:

Morphine doses of over 200 mg are considered to be lethal. Individuals with hypersensitivity to opiate drugs may experience lethal effects from significantly lower amounts, and individuals with tolerance may need extremely high amounts of morphine before they experience lethal overdose effects.

The lethal dose for heroin is generally reported as being between 75 and 375 mg.

The lethal dose for hydrocodone is generally stated to be around 90 mg. However, taking hydrocodone with acetaminophen (e.g., as in Vicodin and other medications) can result in lethal effects occurring at lower doses.

A single dose of 40 mg or more of oxycodone may produce lethal effects in some individuals. Individuals who take controlled-release forms of oxycodone and take more than 80 mg per day may experience overdose effects if they have not developed significant tolerance.

The lethal dose for fentanyl is generally stated to be 2 milligrams. Again, this lethal dose considers that the individual has not developed significant tolerance; however, even in individuals with significant tolerance, the lethal dose of fentanyl is extremely small compared to the potential lethal doses of many other opiate drugs.

Also, why shouldn’t people be allowed to use this drug? It should be up to the user, shouldn’t it?

I don’t support drug use; I’m opposed to the Federal government using drugs as an excuse to destroy our Constitution. I don’t have a lot of sympathy for addicts, but I have less sympathy for tyrants.

Fentanyl has virtually no medicinal purpose. As a cutting agent, it’s more deadly than Russian Roulette.

Fentanyl has a very narrow therapeutic range. Meaning the dose needed to produce the intended results is very near the dose that can cause an overdose or death. This is why it use to be only given in the ICU and during surgery, or those who are dying.

Many people that get hooked on legal opiods eventually turn to heroin, then fentanyl.

enough to kill more than 250,000 people.

Law enforcement has taken around 760 grams of heroin, 450 grams of fentanyl and 167 grams of cocaine.

It is incredibly difficult to cut properly, if touching it can kill you and you need less than 2 milligrams in a final drug dose.

It does have legitimate uses, as a pain killer. Plenty of people would want it for that purpose, legally.

But it also works as a date rape drug.

The dealers are putting it in everything to attempt to keep you coming back for their specific “product”. A friend on my block has a brother who lost his daughter to it. She took Xanax spiked with Fentanyl. Went to bed and was stiff as a board by morning when her mom found her. One time and gone.

A number of states are charging dealers with manslaughter up to capital murder for selling drugs spiked with fentanyl. They are doing it on the grounds of intentional adulteration of the base substance.

Tell your kids if they are at a party or with friends don’t take anything from anybody and if you leave a drink unattended for any length of time, throw it out.

It’s medicinal use is very limited. I’d rather see it completely off the market—and I’m for allowing opioids for chronic pain.

Typical government response: fentanyl is killing people; let’s take other pain medications from people who need it!

It’s funny, when they supply hospitals with this stuff they don’t measure it in units of potential people killed. And yet that’s where this all started.

You may want to double-check that one.

It also has a another legitimate use. This would be in hospices for dying cancer patients where the pain is so extreme that nothing else will work.

The entire opioid crisis is a myth. The only thing that has happened is dealers have started cutting heroin (and other drugs) with fentanyl leading to a marked increase in deaths. Heroin use and fatalities have shown no statistical increase when fentanyl deaths are properly attributed.

Legal opioid use is proper medicine. Many people with chronic or fatal illness have no other efficacious pain relief. Taking medication from these people is literally torture. Anyone suggesting such actions is either a sadist or an idiot. Whenever the government wants to “save someone,” you’d better look out.

You’re correct, but it’s much easier to have Sessions take opioid from cancer patients.
