To reduce carbon emissions to the level they claim is necessary, you would have to reduce the standard of living back to the 1800s. At the very least they would have to give up their own houses, cars and electronics and live in an apartment near the entrance to the salt mine (salt would mined by hand). But since they are not, you are correct that they are not the least bit serious about reducing CO2. Control the masses, sure. Reduce CO2, not a chance.

Solar is a fine example of what they leave out. The sun heats the oceans and El NIno release the warmth. During the short recent solar slump around 08 to 2010 the El Nino was very muted. The tropical temperatures peaked in 1998 and didnt match that mark in the 2016 El Nino despite more solar. But solar is about to slump again.
Volcanoes OTOH are not really a factor. The current CO2 rise is manmade not CO2 (and not due to past warming). Volcanoes can really only cool and that hasn't happened since Pinatubo in 91-93.

One time I was sitting on the beach. So I noticed the water was a good bit closer to me than when I sat down. It was around 5:30 and I’d been there since before noon. I just slowly shook my head and wondered, “is the water level higher because of global warming?
