Volcanoes periodically “erupt”. Because our memory, based on limited lifespan, are deficient in no means effects the performance.
The planet occasionally clears vast areas of terrain, everything bigger than a seed dies. A thousand years after, we see vast open fertile space, and move in. Explain the monolithic structures they left us, as clue.
The land is open, the soil is new. The soil grants grace to the life that is new. We never see that which laid bare, the feild of the thorn. Those who did witness leave only legend.
Those in the present line believe in reality, until theirs become the legend.
We are the fourth iteration of this physical manifestation.
The others still watch, with interest.
