.WASHINGTON -- Longtime Rep. Leonard Lance is in for the fight of his life as New Jersey's most vulnerable Republican lawmaker in a state that clearly doesn't like President Donald Trump.
As he runs for re-election this fall in one of only 23 Republican-held House districts whose voters supported Democrat Hillary Clinton for president, Lance has been more willing to vote against Trump and his GOP colleagues. In fact, Lance, R-7th Dist., last year was rated as more liberal and less conservative than his lifetime record in Washington, according to a NJ Advance Media analysis of legislative scorecards from seven different interest groups.

It becomes down to decision.
At this point he can go liberal light in which he will lose, or go full bore Trump and there is a chance to win. Any bets on what he will do?
FUNJ democrats.
He has primary challengers.
“Lindsay believes that animal welfare should be a central pillar of our national policy framework. “

He’s a swamp creature without principles except keeping keeping his cushy job.
That pretty much sums up the entire GOP Establishment Maggots.
“Hes a swamp creature without principles except keeping keeping his cushy job.”..........
Which politician are you speaking of? So many of them fit the description.
A NJ Republican is a Democrat anywhere else.
Which differs from the reason why any Congressman or Senator votes the way that they do how?
You think a more conservative candidate would do better in this district?
How do you figure that full-bore Trump will give him a better chance in this district? In this state?
Supporting the President 85% of the time is still better than a Democrat whose support would likely be in single digits.
“New Jersey’s most vulnerable Republican lawmaker in a state that clearly doesn’t like President Donald Trump.”
Then he’s clearly not a Republican.
Although in NJ he’s considered slightly more to the right than Archie Bunker.
Trump might not be popular in NJ but NJ is not voting in Lance’s district. Just an FYI, Trump’s golf course is in his district. I also happen to live in his district. During the post Christie Dem wave in NJ last year it was said that our local governments would fall easily to the democrats. It didn’t happen by a long shot.
Take it for what it is worth but this story strikes me as more “blue wave” fantasy porn from the media. In my opinion, Lance is likely safe.
How do you figure that full-bore Trump will give him a better chance in this district? In this state?
He’s in trouble because he’s an asshat.
Agree Flip. I’m in Lance’s district as well.
I even went to his townhall event at RVCC while wearing a red hat and interacting with the liberal rabble out front.
Lance is being targeted by the Democrats in a big way. He’s not perfect but he’s much better than any possible alternative in November.
But wait a minute. He’s a moderate! See, he’s reaching across the aisle! So why is Lance in trouble?
Realistically I would say the choices are this guy running as a moderate or else a Democrat. Voting for the President 85% of the time is still better than a Democrat not voting for the President at all.
Aren’t HRC districts likely to vote for Democrats? The open R seats that voted for her and those with incumbents Republicans.
District voted for HRC.
