Whatever was left of Israel was wiped out 350 years before the collapse of the Western empire.

LOL! You didn’t just use “EMP” on here did you? Stand by for heavy rolls to port. That is all.

We can thank Jimmy Carter for Iran. We can thank George Bush II for Iraq. We can thank Obama for Libya and Syria. This is what we get for “regime change”. Was the Mideast more manageable in 1976 as opposed to 2018?

If you really want to thank anyone...thank the British and French for the mess that is the mideast. Nobody's hands are clean.

If you want some background to the quagmire that is Israel... listent to this great podcast called. "Martyrmade". Just go to the first episode and start it. LIsten for at least the first 10-15 minutes before deciding if you love it or hate it. It's informative.

The Jewish population made up nearly 15% of the Roman Empire, and that number didn't peak until after the Bar Kochba. Jews continued to live in Canaan, but they continued to spread throughout the Empire. They'd already made up a good-sized chunk of Alexandria, Egypt prior to the Roman conquest. Their commercial activities spread over the borders, playing a role in keeping the Romans and Parthians from going at it more than they did. The Jewish population of Mesopotamia was considerable.

As long as Israel pounds the Iranians from the air and stays out of a ground war things should go well. I am watching to see if the Iranians try and pull the Saudi’s into open conflict with them at some point. The Israelis rule the air pure and simple and should be able to pound the Iranians in Syria into oblivion with selective and violent strikes.

Syria was merely the ball field, Iran was the batter.

Today at work, some folks (here in the Swampland) were whining about the JCPOA. I had to hit them with a reality check--the JCPOA is not the most urgent issue with Iran right now.

This trouble along the Golan could blow up into a no-joke war.
