Clearly, you continue to believe the disinformation promulgated by the media for the last 16 years or so. Cheney backed the invasion of Iraq for very good reasons, almost all of which are ignored by the entirety of the media to this day.
Saddam Hussein had no association with al Qaeda or terrorism: Complete, unadulterated BS.
Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction: Utter nonsense; he used them against the Iranians, Iraqi Kurds and coalition forces during Desert Storm, but we’re supposed to believe he unilaterally disarmed and destroyed them?
Unlike Powell, Rumsfeld and Bush, who favored the conventional forces approach, Cheney and retired GEN Wayne Downing, Deputy National Security Advisor (and my boss) at the time, favored a very unconventional approach, which, they warned, would greatly reduce American KIAs. The Powell, Rumsfeld and Bush approach won out of course, the Cheney/Downing predictions were proven true and GEN Downing - the greatest patriot I’ve ever known - left the NSC shortly thereafter.
I would add that I genuinely liked Cheney. I found him very sincere, thoughtful and insightful, but one very serious dude when it counted. Unlike many other politicians, I never found him the least bit sanctimonious, but he was a bit of a challenge to brief; the guy had a mind like a steel trap, so one had to be on his toes.
Everyone breaks. Whether what you are doing is likely to render the information you want is the key.
You still have to plan it out. What’s your line of questioning, and what do you have at your disposal to corroborate quickly what is coming to you so you can maintain your momentum.
Torture works. Torture is no substitute for an interrogation strategy.
If they are well trained, there will be a level of trust, and ‘you determine your manner of treatment’.
I think this is a trap created by the Bush’s! Trump goes along with that statement and the LSM will slash at him for days maybe even weeks!
Technically , Iraq captured those five high ranking ISIS leaders SO I guess Iraq can water board as they are not under Americas liberal Democrat rule. Crazy if they don’t.
