They can want, they will never succeed. There will always be a remnant of true Christianity in the world until Jesus returns for His own. Then there will be Tribulation saints. The strength of the remnant won’t necessarily be based in the US, or in the West for that matter. It may be, it may not be. If I were pressed to guess, I would guess that the Tribulation saints wouldn’t be primarily Western, but as that will be a whole other world, who knows.

Did the movie fail because people heard details on the film, or no one had any interest in this film regardless how well it might have been?
I don’t think it failed because of stripping Christianity out of it. I think it failed because they made such a big deal out of Oprah being in it. Oprah alone was a turn-off to any conservatives who might have seen it; and even some liberals probably thought it was laughable to include her in the film.
