Trump 'Committed' to Iran Regime Change, Giuliani Says Days Before Nuclear Deadline

President's lawyer and confidant calls regime change 'only way to achieve Mideast peace and 'more important than an Israeli-Palestinian deal' ■ Rohani warns of 'historic' mistake

Amir Tibon (Washington) May 06, 2018 8:31 AM

WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump is "committed" to regime change in Iran, Trump's lawyer and confidant Rudy Giuliani said on Saturday. The unusual statement comes just days before Trump will have to make a dramatic decision on the fate of the nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic.

Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, said at an event hosted by an Iranian opposition group in Washington that regime change in Iran is "the only way to achieve peace in the Middle East."

Is this a way to give him the green light to go after Iran or mollify him not to do it now?

I think this is a little out of Giuliani’s scope, he has no business speaking on foreign affairs. This worries me.

It looks as though the group hosted Giuliani based on this quote from the article, The group that hosted Giuliani has been accused by critics of being a "front organization" for Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK), an Iranian opposition group that was designated in the past as a terrorist organization by the United States.

This may be why it is came from him when it did. Since Giuliani just came on board. I assume this might have already been something he was invited to attend. But who knows.

hope it’s not true. Trump had such a perfect foreign policy when he campaigned - don’t let it be hijacked by the neocons & neoliberals.

Are Rudy and Sessions brothers from a different mother? I don’t think “motor mouth” Rudy will be in his current position much longer.

The Iranian regime has made it crystal clear they will nuke , destroy America as their first priority “Great Satan” target- before ever bothering to bomb any more of their neighbors or other countries. Regime change to almost anything even halfway same would save us many millions of civilian lives ( and cost us a lot less otherwise, too). Those intercontinental Iranian nuclear missiles ( the ones obama and kerry provided Iran with the money and protection to build) aren’t needed to attack Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar, barbering, or the emerites, after all.

If Israel and the Saudis want regime change let them do it and DJT needs to lead the USA in abstaining from direct involvement.

The only regime change we need right now is in the attorney generals office.

*** Trump had such a perfect foreign policy when he campaigned - don’t let it be hijacked by the neocons & neoliberals.***

The foreign policy he campaigned on doesn’t exist. That the regime change BS continues in Syria, and with Special Forces in Yemen advising the Saudis is a betrayal of my support and vote.

It seems that Rudy is following the Scaramucci template for short term employment.

I like that list! I have no doubt Iran is next.
Not sure Rudy is supposed to be spouting this stuff all over TV. Loose lips sinking ships and all.

But you never know with Trump. Could have a plan with Rudy.
Agreed best President EVER.

There’s a lot of factionalism in Israeli politics A traditional Jewish observance always has been. Put three Jews in a room and you’ll get five opinions.Put their cousins in the same room and you’ll get 5 conspiracies.

Hey, Rudy ... This is why globalist jerks like you and Jeb Bush drop out of GOP primary races one week into the primary season with just one delegate to your name.

This guy is on Trump's legal team and he's running his mouth off on this sh!t?

He should be gone within 24 hours.
